I know Bishop Archery makes two broadheads that cost more than 110 dollars for one. They are both CRAZY broadheads, the one is a 600gr single bevel, and the other is a 500gr 3 blade.

Good solid info, wondering why no mention of the Cutthroat made right there in Colorado. At $55/3 they are a great deal. Every bit as good at the "Pricy" heads. They are machined from a billet of tool steel and hardened to 55Rc. No aluminum, screws, pins, moving parts. If you sharpen these on a KME broad head sharpener, anyone can get them razor sharp in minutes. Full warranty! Only problem is you gotta get them early because they always sell out!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this confused me. Aron said that the NAP Killzone was "Forward deploying" but I'm pretty sure they're exactly the opposite, unless I've been living a lie haha. Can anyone clarify for me? I'm pretty sure "Slip-Cam" broadheads like rage, NAP Killzone, etc. are considered "rear-deploying" and ones that fold back from the front like Swhacker are considered "front-deploying"... At least that's always been my understanding.

not to bad guys pretty good info. I live here in Oregon so i run fixed blade heads. I am running Kudu 125gr one of the best heads I shot. they are and non vented blade so they fly quite.

I think most people are afraid to work on there own compound's mainly for fear that a bow cost so much. I started to work on my own bows and buying tools mainly because I am a cheap bastard and hate paying someone for something I can learn how to do. Plus I think you will become a better archer if you learn how to setup and tune your bow. Aron, Brian you guys are awesome. Aron your not being a dick if your telling it how it is. Good hunting everyone.

You guys should try out the helix broadheads from Strickland archery made in colorado also .

You didn't mention them and I know they are more geared towards traditional archery but any thoughts on RMS cutthroats for a fixed head option on the compound...lower cost and non-vented design just not sure about performance at higher compound speeds.

Good podcast guys. So my son and I killed the first two bears ever harvested, with Iron Will broadheads, this spring. My son is 14, shooting 48#, with a 26" arrow. He made a good first shot but the bear stopped after a short run. All that was available was a steep quartering away shot. He centered the rear quarter and the Iron Will v100 literally exploded that quarter into many pieces. The quarter was destroyed. Unbelievable. We washed the head off and cleaned it up. It spins 100% perfect and will still shave arm hair without being resharpened. It's amazing. It will go back in his quiver to kill an elk with in 3 weeks. Check out a great discussion on the Iron Will heads here : www.rokslide.com/forums/archery/69823-iron-outfitters-broadheads.html

What do you guys use to spin your arrows in order to make sure everything is dialed in rather than finding out the hard way later on?

You touched a little on slick tricks, but what's the reason it's not on your top list? I'm from Wisconsin and they are almost unheard of here. Just ordered a pack and hoping to use them in Colorado for my first elk hunt.

I am wondering, if i could make some single-bevels from K-390 steel , doubt, that would get any cheaper though.

Tuning is such a big deal especially when it comes to broadheads. I shoot 200g single bevel fixed blades from my recurves and compounds. I thought my bows were tuned until I made this choice and i had to start all over again. Now that I've have then shooting well I dont want to shoot anything else.

Aron Snyder , between my experience with with T's and listening to what you found in your research of the iron will. I believe we have about the same ability shooting and tuning compounds. Sounds like they have the same flight characteristics. T's are quiter and with the same cut diameter will punch a bigger hole. Ask Dan Evans. Also T's might have better blade retention. Thanks for the reply.
