in min 51, when Chris suggests criteria for spacing the neighbor cross sections from the bridge, I think that one needs to see where is a significant change in channel geometry, for the case abutment is near vertical. As bridge curves are developed from momentum balance, pressure gradient term depends on depth gradient, which increases for large conveyance changes between cross sections.

Is it recommended to align the mesh with the flow of the river (the cell faces are perpendicular to the movement of the water) or with the axis of the bridge? If it is the second option, is it necessary to repeat the mesh to cover the entire bridge (extending over the 2 bounding XS)?

Cool VodCast. In the last episode where you were discussing RASMapper, RasCalculater was discussed slightly. I wanted to know more about the RaserCalculator Episode, specifically Sediment Transport 2D in mind! Any Ideas on the Timeframe ?

Hello sir. Been watching your videos since last month. May I ask how can I run a simulation for an Irrigation System Canal and show its capacity when rainfall data is applied. Thanks

Thanks for the Podcast guys, really useful episode. What's the best way to look at the amount of flow that is going through a 2D bridge? In 1D we have the nice Tabular Output we can look at that provides the amount of flow going the bridge compared to the flow that's overtopping the bridge, etc. For 2D the only thing I have really used is the Stage and Flow Hydrograph. I go into the bridge geometry to find the deck elevation then find the spot on the Stage and Flow Hydrograph that the HW meets that elevation, if that makes sense.

I am working on a very large model in full 2D. It has 110,000 cells, and it has 17 BC input hydrographs, the one with the most volume being approximately 125,000 cfs (every 5 min). When I try to run a 12-day simulation, the program does not simulate. I have consulted the reference manual and there is no mention of a hydrogram limit in any section. The solution I have found is to divide the model into 4 and simulate 3 days each time (with 0.5 time step in Fast SWE), but it is very annoying since it is not always easy to make the restart files square up. Could you help me if there is a way to simulate the entire model without having to divide it? Thank you
