Bills will have around $50 million in cap space and a bunch of picks next year. I'm not sure their window is closing, maybe on hiatus for a year, but if Allen plays like he has been for at least 4-5 more seasons, they're gonna be able to pay free agents, while also getting younger thru the draft. This is the year to take them down. If it don't happen for us this year again while we've had the better team, then I don't know when it'll happen.
@frozenharold7 ай бұрын
Dolphins will have $78 million in cap space next year and plenty of picks. But not not a lot of players under contract. The Bill's are projected to have about $30 in cap space, but just 30 players under contract.
@Ballaholic177 ай бұрын
@@frozenharold I wouldn't look too much at next years cap online. We still haven't paid Tua, Waddle, Holland or Phillips. I'm not sure we pay all 4, but we have alot of guys on 1 year deals and void years that get accelerated if we move off of guys like Armstead, Mostert, Barrett Ramsey and Hill. My friend Dan is a Bills beat writer and he said they'll have around 50 million, maybe more next year after they ate Diggs money this year and they can finally move off of Von Miller after 2024. I'm not saying they won't resign some of their guys and they don't have other needs, but Allen's deal already kicked in for them and they don't have alot of dead money moving forward on their books. He said they'll be big players next year in free agency, and they're looking to do 1 more build for the last 4-5 years of Josh Allen's prime. My bottom line is, we need to win the division now. Last year and this year, we've had the better roster. I'm not sure how much longer we'll be able to say that with our money situation and there's. If we can't do it now, who knows what Ross decides to do moving forward. Phins up.

@@Ballaholic17 According to overthecap, as currently constructed, the Bill's cap situation for 2025 looks like this: "Total Cap Liabilities: $245,988,159Top 51: $243,353,240Team Cap Space: $14,011,841" it has them at $66 mil under for 2026. The Dolphins announced earlier thus week that they have picked up the 5th year options on both Phillips and Waddle, so theynare both under contract through 2025. Post 6/1 releases of Hill, Armstead and Chubb, Ramsey and Mostert, create $80 mil in space.

If Chop Robinson= Barkevious Mingo Chris Grier is fired. Both hyper athletic, not that large, came from top programs, and did not have great sack numbers in college. Mingo was a major bust. Just 12.5 sacks in 8 years in the NFL. I know #21 is not #6(were Mingo went in 2013) but would have still traded down from #21 for say, #29 & #73 with the Lions. Getting Chop there and #73 would have made it a great draft. I bring that up because that's what Dallas did, and picked Cooper Beebe, OG from Kansas State at #73, who was in the discussion at #55. Other players that were still on the board at #73 that I had seen talk of Miami picking at #55 were.... Christian Haynes OG from UConn, Ja'Tavion Sanders TE from Texas. Kamren Kinchens Safety from the U, who "someone" who will remain nameless, Loved. Payton Wilson LB from NC State, a player who I liked. At just under 6-4 and 235 pounds the guy ran 4.43 in the 40 at the combine. Maybe, Chop is not there at #29, Tampa takes him at #26, but I am not heart broken. I did not have that much of a problem with Patrick Paul, but he needs to be better than Liam Eichenberg. All teams need to hit on their 2nd round picks, even in the mid 50's There will be solid starters taken after him, so if he is not one, it will be a bust. He did have the highest "pass block win rate" of any FBS player in 2023, though he did not play in the SEC, and the arm length that you love. As far as trading a future 3rd round pick i.e., 2021 to move up for Liam Eichenberg, its Chris Grier selling the teams future for his present. I get it, it's his job is on the line, but it's the same old story with him. Add void years and tank the cap down the road because he might not be there any way. It seems sometimes like it his "go to move" and it cost the team several big-time players as free agents this year. Now he does it for a Running Back, which is good prospect, but we did not need. We let Myles Gaskin, who was a serviceable NFL player, go for nothing last year. The team can get RBs off the scrap heap for nothing i.e. Duke Johnson, Phillip Linsey, and the Browns last year with K. Hunt. I would not have as much of a problem with it if we did not trade up to get him. This idea that trading next year’s 3rd rounder because we MIGHT get two late 3rd's(really early 4ths) is only so good of an idea. As AP had mentioned, how did that work out with Jajuan James when he signed with Denver several years ago?? As far as rounds 5-7 All sins are forgivable at that point in the draft, but you need to get me some help on special teams though, we were one of the worst units in the NFL last year.

Love your podcast. Respectfully disagree with Pauline as to the Bills window. Such is open as long as their elite QB is in his prime. Even in a so called down year he lead the league in tds with 44 and was top five in passing yards, passing tds, rushing yards and rushing tds- all with Diggs not having a single productive game since week 10. Allen was further good in both playoff games. As to trading with the Chiefs, you don't play scared. Chiefs were not afraid to trade the Bills something of value, the bills cannot be scared to trade something the Chiefs value. Chiefs may have gotten Worthy anyway. With a 4.3 and 4.4 receiver in Samuel and Shakir respectively, Bills were just lacking a boundary receiver with a big body. A small fast guy was redundant and they clearly did not want Worthy or they would've picked him. When you are a FG loss difference from the defending champion you take the best deal for you and work on making yourself the best. Thanks to the trade the Bills got an extra day two pick which they wanted. As for the Chiefs, lets not pretend that they've been lighting it up with their receiver picks- Rice was good, but then you have Moore, Cornell Powell, Mecole Hardman, Tremon Smith, they traded for Toney and MVS- Worthy is no lock just because he's fast and KC picked him. KC is the favorite and the East is a tough division. No guarantees for the Bills but they are contending as long as Allen is in his prime. People fixate on turnovers without thinking of production, of which Allen has led with the most tds consistently. If fixated on turnovers, in the playoffs he has 27 total tds and 4 ints. He should improve in certain areas sure and is reckless, but the fans dismissing him as a turnover machine when he has led the Bills to 4 straight division titles is insane imo. Best of luck, love your informative content Alain. Thank You

People say same thing about Jackson as Paul… act like you are authorities, but just comment
@pacificfinsfan17 ай бұрын
I really do not understand some of the takes Poupart has or where he gets them. Patrick Paul has a base nastyness that you can't teach. Sure his hands and feet needs work but he shows the ability and self awareness to know what he needs to work on and goes and works on it. OT's do not need to play Guard a season to be good at OT that has never made sense to me as I have played both and both are completely different. You can teach technique you can't teach toughness or nastiness you either have it or you don't. With signing Lamb and Jackson you have your 3 OT's and Smith is still developing so there is 4 OT's add in Paul and you have 5 OT's and last season we used every offensive line player and still needed more.
@alldolphinspodcast7 ай бұрын
Please indicate to me where I said that Paul NEEDED to play guard beyond saying the ideal pick would have been a tackle of the future who COULD play guard to help this season because the team is in win-now mode. Not the same thing.
