I literally just ordered some KFO heavy merino in blue poppy today! It was such a striking color, it made all the other colors in the line seem desaturated and neutral. I’m glad to see it looks just as beautiful in person!

Hi Chelsea! I'm doing the whole house decluttering too! I started over the summer while I had off from school and managed to get most of my rooms done. Still need to attach the yarn room and I think my basement will be next summer's projects! So enjoyed this episode and loved all the footage from Italy. Makes me want to go back!

I love Florence! My mother and I went years ago and rented an apartment across the river be done the museum. I loved the central market and bought fresh food for dinner several times. It was a great base as we took the train to see Pisa, Luca and Sienna. Bonus that your travel there was paid for. I had not realized before that MS was your specialty. My sister was diagnosed about 25 years ago. It is a hard diagnosis to get and that gradual loss of nerve function over time.
@sundayknittingsociety7245 Жыл бұрын
How fun! I’d love to rent a house near Florence and just take lots of short trips. MS is hard but there can also be so much opportunity to intervene early now.

I'm so glad your trip was everything you hoped it would be and hooray for only 3 more school loan payments!!!!!! I love those stripey socks you finished on your trip, they are such happy colors! I have also been decluttering my entire house (minus the craft room of course, that just needs to be organized better) and I share your enthusiasm, I just have to remember to take it one area at a time so I don't get overwhelmed and quit since I want to be done by December.

I’m knitting a Musselburgh hat on Chiaogoo shorties as I’m watching this, and I highly recommend trying them out with this project. I started on DPNs (I am not a fan of Magic Loop) and the CG shorties feel so much better!!!

Your trip sounded wonderful touring and knitting time! I think I went into that same stationery store by the Pantheon while we were in Rome! Ha! Sweaters are beautiful as usual! 😊

Thanks. The man working in that shop insisted on wrapping each item separately. He was giving me Mr. Bean in Love Always vibes. 😂

your holiday sounds amazing and loved the montage at the end. i really like the colour combo for the tolsta tee, i've been eyeing off a similar combo for a stripey cardigan potentially.

The yarn store in Milan sounds a lot like one I visited in France called La Droguerie. They had yarn on cones that was all their house yarn for use with their own patterns. They would wind up the yarn for you off the cones based on how much you needed for the pattern. It was also generally laceweight or thinner yarns, because most of them were double stranded to make a custom combination for each pattern. Coincidentally, they also didn’t speak much English there either. 😉

Glad you’re back. I missed your podcasts. I did go to the NY fiber festivities for the first time this year. I was so disappointed in Wool and Folk and I had it built up so much in my mind. Part of me wondered if that’s just how fiber feats are. Rhinebeck seemed so open and spacious compared to W and F.
@sundayknittingsociety7245 Жыл бұрын
I’m sorry you had a disappointing experience! I’ve only been to two festivals but none of them were what W&F sounded like this year.

I’m also working on a Musselburgh. I switched mine to 16” circulars and it’s going much better for me. I’m wasn’t a fan of that cast either! Welcome home, by the way! Your trip sounds and looked amazing (I followed along on instagram). I’m not a traveler but enjoy vicariously traveling very much. 😂 I’m very excited to have found an Oklahoman podcaster. I’ve lived here my entire life. It’s pouring here today too. It’s making me have strong Thanksgiving vibes.
@sundayknittingsociety7245 Жыл бұрын
I might switch to smaller circulars but I’m using a 2.5 needle and I don’t have interchangeable tips in that size. I’m loving this rain. Especially because my living room and kitchen are clean now. It just feels so cozy!
@Okie_Stitches Жыл бұрын
@@sundayknittingsociety7245 I would probably order a needle in that size if you plan on knitting more Musselburghs. The struggle is real!

SEERanoh. From Cyrano de Bergerac, a late 19th century French play. It's very well known and there have been multiple film and stage productions, and I recommend you watch the 1950 Jose Ferrer film. If you've seen Steve Martin's movie Roxanne, that's an adaptation. Once you watch it the pronunciation of the yarn will stick with you. The play is actually quite funny and bittersweet. When I try to pronounce medical terms I fail miserably, so no shade. Also, I love both of your Alpine Blooms-- Liorah, PhD Drama, whose soul hurts just a tiny bit every time you mispronounce it. 😊
