Remember, making deals with Things That Aren't Things But Are is a good way to end up like Barlo (not confused with the real Barlow)

Great story. It’s really well written. They got one detail wrong though. They say the church is already a Pentecostal church, but then later say that the character introduced the church to speaking in tongues. If they’re a Pentecostal church, then they already believe in speaking in tongues. That’s part of what Pentecostal means. This is coming from a Pentecostal preacher myself. The most he could have done is encourage the church to practice it more regularly and frequently if they were not before.

I'm clearly super late, but I just found this listened to a couple of random episodes, which were fab, and thought I should probably start at the beginning. Loving it so far.

I started listening today on spotify and holy cow! This is so good. I feel like it would make a good movie or show, but at the same time it would lose the charm the narrator has created.

See this is why bargains with things that aren't people never work out. But desperation makes fools and monsters of us all.

If i had a nickel for every horror podcast i listened to this year with anticapitalist undertones Id have two nickels. Not much, but weird it happened twice.

The passages from Revelations make sense as the background for this video, but... why is the one side in Welsh? I'm nowhere near fluent in it, but I do speak a bit. Is that going to factor in later?

In the early 1800's to the early 1900's Welsh and German were very prominently spoken languages, especially in the deep south. So much so in fact, that in 1794 a group of German immigrant citizens petitioned their state government to have all laws printed in German as well as English. The motion was struck down by a hair in a 42-41 vote in favor of English only.

Getting deeper ,the dog sacrifice was too much though ,glad it ended the way it did ,I know it's what was done back then and think nothing of it ...hell they still have sickos out there that do terrible things to dogs and other animals..

The dog was never brought in. It was suggested but it never textually happen. We never kill the dog. Ever. Farm animals are fair game. Dogs and other pets no.

Is this a narrative rendition of your home game? I know there is a new cypher system game of the same name.

Yes I am also a late bloomer for this, but I am a huge fan of folk horror and supernatural horror. I actually stumbled upon the game first and learned quickly of the podcast. Such a fantastic concept for horror enthusiasts!
