Still continuing to harvest with each visit to the allotment which is wonderful, especially tomatoes which is good as they should see us into next year. So pleased with the Nagina variety, excellent for making sauces etc.
I also got a great item on Freecycle which I hope will benefit the allotment site.
Thank you for watching and for the first time ever I've actually mentioned subscribing to my channel!
Take care now,
Christine x

So true - a very challenging year, I have been fortunate, I think new compost has definitely helped. 😊

Wow I have to say yet again Christine those pumpkins look gorgeous. Can’t believe how many slugs you have still, one good thing about our drought weather is we have barely any slugs 🤞🤞. Fab your still getting so any wonderful harvests. Have a great week ahead, Ali 🌞🇨🇦 Yes as far as I know glass popcorn is not edible like cob corn 🌽

Hi Ali, oh yes the slugs are back, I'm not sure they ever left, secretly hiding with their friends! I am pleased with the pumpkins, could have a few too many! 😀

Hey Christine! Lovely update! Thanks for the mention. Definitely get some bagged manure for the asparagus bed. It'll wash into the crowns and give them a good boost ready for next year. Regarding the corn, its best practice not to mix corn as they cross pollinate very easily. Edible! But you won't get a cob that's true to form, may have colours from the other cobs. Once found blue corn inside my yellow corn haha! Yes the glass gem corn is great for popcorn 🌱 what a lovely harvest! Danny 🌱

Hi What a successful harvest🎉🎉excuse my ignorance, but what use is the fox? Does it eat slugs eg? You have plenty of pumpkins to put on the produce table. Hope you went home with a bunch of cosmos. They are gorgeous 🌽👏💕💯

No specific use, I think. It might eat rodents? But mostly it’s just there. Foxes are urbanized in th UK.

Hi, yes the foxes are brilliant at keeping the rats and mice at bay but aside from that they look beautiful! Not everyone likes them and they can be destructive on allotments but I'm very much for protecting them. 😊🦊

Hi socks over corn for animal protection and watering through a pipe keeping the ground as dry as possible for slugs works for me as always happy gardening Richardx

Ah, that’s a new tip for me! I have seen people watering in pipes put in the ground, but I was thinking it was to put a lot of water in the pipe for longterm watering, and getting it down to the roots efficiently. Have not thought about how it also keeps the top drier. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Christine. Great update. Re the glassgem popcorn... i grew it last year for popping corn but struggled, no, failed, to get it to pop. Please let me know if you have any success with this. Re the excess produce tsble...lovely idea, but i want to find a way to share our excess with our local community. I deliberately grew excess last year hoping to give to food banks, but those around Gravesend dont take fresh produce. I'm still thinking...

That is such a shame that fresh produce isn't accepted, before the produce table, I used to put a basket out on my front garden wall and everything went. 😊

Watching your videos are like sharing time with a friend. I’m very happy you choose to spend time sharing. And absolutely ask for subscriptions, and likes. You deserve to reach a wider audience 🤩 Plus, your allotment experience is so rewarding to watch. Great harvest! I’m also in harvesting and preservation mode. Today I’m making apple butter for the first time after being fortunate enough to pick a neighbour’s huge apple trees. This week I’ve seen quite a few uk allotmenteers and gardeners, and fin it interesting how pest-pressure is different in different parts of the country. It also seems that big allotments that have existed a long time is more prone to slugs, rodents and such. But that might be faulty observation on my part 😅 My garden is mostly affected by butterflies on my brassicas. Otherwise it’s the colder climate that affects how things do. Why can’t Norway have better summer climate?! Common, and ineffctive rant ofter heard out of my mouth.. 😂

Aw thank you so much, so pleased you enjoy my videos. I agree, it is interesting to see how different climates affect the growing and pests, I think it has mostly been the wet weather and a mild winter last year so many slugs and snails survived. Apple butter sounds wonderful. 😊🌻
