As a girl who's been in an abusive relationship but also as a person who's come from poverty and a broken family, I can have sympathy for x but not empathy. He could've changed and I don't think he was evil, he was deeply troubled. That doesn't make what he did ok, because had he still been alive, I definitely would've rooted for him going to jail for the charges. No one knows for sure if he was truly an evil person but he still has to take responsibility for what he did.

This is an old comment, and the idea / concept of “evil” is subjective so idk if i can say x was truly “evil”, but I can say that if you abuse someone you’re definitely a bad person, regardless of your background. My experience with X’s killing wasn’t people saying you shouldn’t be sad he died if you liked him, it was literally the complete opposite. I, because of how I felt about his behavior, said I didn’t care. Say what you want, judge me whatever, I don’t have to care about that guy. Of course I feel bad for his mom, no parent should ever have to bury their kid. But it doesn’t mean I have to feel sorry for him. And because I said that, people were all up inside my ass saying I HAD to care and that I’m heartless if I don’t.

Really terrible that a kid who clearly had potential and talent is dead, and obviously everyone is entitled to their own feelings about it - but it leaves a really bad taste in my mouth when people defend X like you did in this video Noel. “She wanted to drop the charges” okay but also he curb stomped a gay guy nearly to death for looking at him funny in jail and you didn’t mention that part - people deserve better role models than him and just because he died doesn’t make him a hero or that you can’t bring attention to the terrible shit that he did while he was alive. I wish he would have had the chance to make up for his actions, but I also hope in his death he doesn’t inspire other troubled kids to follow in his footsteps. And for the people who look up to you two, you could not be better examples of awesomeness - just understand your words have weight.

Yeah I agree. I love Noel and Cody but I don’t think they have enough of an idea about her abuse or abuse in general to understand why this is a big fucking deal. I mean for a while I had no idea the gruesome details of whag he did.. But anyway, people get /manipulated/ into dropping charges and later saying things aren’t true. X tried to MURDER her and wouldn’t let her escape his abuse. While she was pregnant I’m pretty sure??? And it was so bad she had to have surgery on her eye?! 20 yr olds needing guidance and not knowing anything isn’t a good enough excuse or reason for what he did to her. People should know not to abuse other people at 20. It was deliberate and repetitive. He threatened to kill her and nearly did several times. No WONDER she was going to retract charges, she was terrified for her life. I take no pleasure in his death, but to dismiss what he did to her, even just a little, is upsetting. In the era of the #metoo movement, it’s upsetting to still see so many people trying to claim that she was lying about everything even when she had so much evidence. I wish Noel and Cody would have taken a harder stand, it would have meant a lot more to survivors of abuse. I’ve only ever been emotionally abused and sexually harassed but to watch what they said was still kinda tough.
