The topic of secession has long been a contentious issue within the Sabahan narrative, often viewed with suspicion by the Federal Government in Malaya. But does this line of thinking hold any merit?
This heated topic has landed many individuals in hot water, yet it remains a conversation worth having. One region has already left the Federation and thrived, but can such success be replicated, or is interdependence and cooperation the key to joint growth?
Join Haffisz and Adi on Kopitiam Council as they tackle this controversial subject, navigating through disagreements and strong opinions. They aim to respectfully and rationally discuss the potential implications and possibilities of secession for Sabah, exploring both sides of this complex issue.

As a Selangorian, I see a much brighter future in Sabah & Sarawak and I don't want to lose you guys. Too many ignorant fools in Peninsula Malaysia take Sabah and Sarawak for granted. 1. 35% parliament seats first priority, attempts to rectify the imbalance via legislation. Re-delineation of electoral boundaries is also a must as urban seats are way too diluted. 2. if Sabah & Sarawak cannot change/shape Malaysia into a more reasonable nation, secession referendum Please don't let the nefarious cult (including its allies!) come to Sabah and Sarawak. Disinformation warfare in Peninsula has totally gone out of control, effectively brainwashed nearly the entire young generation here.

Thanks for comments! 1. Some argued Sabah and Sarawak do not deserve the increment in parliamentary seats due to the lack of populations and diluting even more electorates in urban areas but this only happened due to imbalance of development by the previous governments that forced people not just from S&S but all over the country to move to Klang valley. 2. All governments including Madani government still treat any ideas relating to secession referendum as an act of treason. As long as Putrajaya have this mindset, they will always bully S&S and suppress any act of self-determination. People in S&S are mostly still in the dark. fake news are not helping with our already confused sabahans and sarawakians

As a Sarawakian, I hope we (Sarawak) secede from Malaysia and become an independent country. We have a different mentality and culture than West Malaysia. We are rich in resources to stand alone as a country, except for military strength. But that's a different discussion. Good job, Sarawakian leadership!!

for me sabah is always talking but dont really have enough effort like sarawak.. sarawak send their team to oversea to study the ma63.. sarawak are more prepared when demanding something.. and when sarawak demand they truly mean it.. however sabah is different, they only demand when sarawak already make the move.. sabah are like someone that love to follow from the back.. in parliment i can see how the minister of sabah and sarawak are different.. sarawak are stern and demand for their rights and more focus when voicing what they need, they talk about their state.. but sabah, when they demand & talk, they will also always mention sarawak.. just why? fight for urself or fight together.. please sabah, dont be back bencher..

100% and we believe this is due to and not limited to political instability. At one point, Sabah was so politically weak, Sabah has different chief minister from different races every two-year rotation. Once, Sabah can stabilize its politics then we could see Sabah behaving like Sarawak.

This is because Sabah is under UMNO's control.

Sarawak was once under the party from peninsular, BN. we are always called as deposit for BN. sakit hati juga dngr tu. but sometimes in 2018, all the sarawak parties exit BN, no longer become BN component, new Party is formed, the GPS. for 1st time, Sarawak become an opposition state. it is a risky move. ada satu menteri from DAP said yg Sarawak akan bangkrap in 3 yrs. thats why we, Sarawakian feel hurt with DAP, until recently dia minta maaf. but the hard & risky move eventually sowing some fruit today. imagine if we are not bold enouf to governt our own, rasanya sarawak masih mcm dulu.
