Ane Aunty, are you able to do an episode on different methods of washing rice in Sri Lanka? Sounds so easy but for youngsters who grew up overseas and are visiting Sri Lanka, we have no idea what haal garanawa means and how to actually do it. At my relative's house in the village, I've seen how aunty looks for wee eta first. That was the easy part. I tried doing the next step of garanawa and all the rice was on the floor! I've also seen another aunt wash rice in the sink using a special pot (nembiliya?). Why do we need to use that? Unfortunately my relatives aren't good in teaching..
