I noticed other Cardfighters are surprised that someone has a normal unit beyond Grade 3 because there are currently only eight normal units in existence in Overdress that has been used by certain major characters (with the exception of Kairi). The Lyrical Monasterio nation has currently only been used by four characters. One from the anime and the other three in Dear Days. Himari Kanoashi appeared in Will+Dress season 1, and even she didn’t have as much screen time when it comes to cardfighting, mostly being the spectator watching various fights; the signature card we briefly saw was Make a Trend, Kyouka (based on Cardfight Wiki). Maybe if there was another side story of someone using that Grade 4 Kairi… However, unlike past eras, those grade 4s onwards are still stuck with initial 13000 power, but they do get Triple Drive (except Griphogila), which I guess makes up for not getting even a measly +1000 initial power (like 14000). Seems bittersweet since now players won’t have to boost their 13000 power vanguard with their Grade 0/1 back row unit just to get past another hypothetical Grade 4 Vanguard with 14000 initial power (before factoring in shield value from other units the opponent choose to guard with). I believe some of the cards which comes close to having more than 13000 power is Majesty Lord Blaster if, and only if, it has both Blaster Dark/Blade in the soul, then it becomes a Grade 3 with 15000 power and initial 2 critical that’s continuous no matter who’s turn it is. Bastion Prime can reach 15000 too, but only works during your turn and not your opponent. List of Grade 4+ Normal Units: -Chakrabarthi True Dragon, Mahar Nirvana -Vairina Esperaridea -Dragontree of Ecliptic Decimation, Griphogila -Apex-Surpassing Sword, Bastion Prime -Diabolos “Unrivaled” Bruce -Aurora Fierce Princess, Seraph Purelight -Sylvan Horned Beast Emperor, Magnolia Elder -AstesiceXLive, Kairi Will+Dress seems to show these Grade 4s less often. Tomari, Tohya, and Megumi still used their Grade 4 units while Danji and Yuyu temporarily or somewhat dropped their Grade 4s for their Grade 3 retrains such as Viamance Bruce and Nirvana Jheva respectively.

In a way, Grade 4s are like the Pokémon TCG equivalent of BREAK Evolutions from an bygone era, tacking on new capabilities on top of existing ones. They take up deck space and is an investment if they were to be very good. Also, I think those Grade 4s are there to make up for Grade 3s’ shortcomings. Some deck recipe of those archetypes need to run a full four if G4s.

I wonder, could Sam have won the fight if he used Dusting intstead of Death Winds? If he did, avant-garda would’ve gotten 10k & Taizo couldn’t intercept or use blitz orders. So I’m pretty sure Taino couldn’t have blocked any of his attacks after avantgardas first attack & then he’d have lost

5:50 I know it’s just a fictional anime character within a card game anime and we’re not supposed take such details like this seriously but… Did Shrine Maidens ever wield swords? Like actual Samurai Swords? I mean Naginata, Bows and arrows and possibly Warfans I can accept but weren’t those things only allowed to be wielded by actual Samurai considering it was the law at the time and Religious folk were allowed to freely wonder Japan during those times and under specific circumstances there were those who were allowed to wield swords as long they met the requirements but did any Shrine Maiden ever wielded a sword? Oh what the heck I’m pretty sure no one is gonna care.

I get that They picked a deep voice due to His size and skin color, but even the sub version use a young voice for Him. The deep voice works for the latter portion of the season, for the more serious scenes. But It really didn't work for the earlier portion, where He's a more cheerful character with some secrets hidden.

I gave this series yet another chance and once again,.im disappointed. The whole cardfight save a few animations, i was just watching their faces. They need to animate these cards and have them play a bigger part like classic vanguard. I was bored the whole cardfight even when the show tried to make it seem like an exciting part happened
