Hopefully we'll finalize at least the draw down and set up this weekend. We will try and show vent install too.

Would you not apply a lubricant on the gaskets (O Rings) on the two copper pipes coming out of the evaporator?

We did.

The instrument cluster in the 1 ton is made of steel and far more attractive.

I can appreciate your thoughts; the F100, F250 and F350 used the same dash. I think you are talking about the F500s and F600s They are a little harder to find and pretty expensive, plus the light switch is moved up to the instrument cluster; leading to body work on the dash panel or a choke cable or some such on the dash.

Dakota Digital makes a dash with a tack built in it looks real similar to the Ford setup

Yep, But I worry that I am quickly out distancing the value of my truck with the sum of it's new parts...LOL😀

I have a 68 f-100 and I put that system in is nice having ac. But it was a pain in the ass to put in. I had to do it by myself which made it harder.
@AutoRestoMod5 жыл бұрын
It can be difficult. But no more than a stock unit; classic 1968-73 Mustang AC systems are really hard too.

That look easy. Try putting it in a 68 mustang. I needed physical therapist after. Note: you saw my car in Florida at mustang roundup at Silver Springs. Domenic

Can you use the factory vents with this system??

You lose the fresh air vent on the passenger side. Drivers side stays. But I am going to nuke them both.

31:10 I had a same issue today, that thing doesn’t fit very well 😤
@AutoRestoMod5 жыл бұрын
It is a tight fit. But stock 1967-73 units will cause cussing fits too. I have broken off a drain nipple on a factory A/C, realized it and had to take it BACK OUT and repair it. Good times...might be where my facial tic comes from now that I think on it...😃

Well I’ve spent the last three hours trying to get this damn thing in and its not going. I have no idea how you guys wiggle that thing in there without damaging it.
@AutoRestoMod3 жыл бұрын
You may have to pull on the lower part of the dash a bit to get the box in there. Another friend had the same problem and ended up grinding the welds on the lower and pulling the dash out. Ford seems to have been a bit willy nilly on placement of the mounting points.
