Ohh Lisa, thanks so very much for another awesome podcast, I really look forward them. Always great fun, and so informative, I love your choice of patterns and all your lovely yarn. I am in the UK, so manage to get to see the John Arbon yarns in person at yarn shows. Your subscribers are very lucky that you have made it possible for them to enjoy. It really is all that you say and more. I have made the Alpine Bloom top, and love it, and am looking forward to the release in the autumn of the sport weight version.That will be my Christmas knit! Thanks again for your great podcasts, I always look forward to your tips and pattern choices, you are such an enabler! Ha ha, very kind regards , Zillah ❤😀

Hi Lisa, a great video, loved it, loved all you projects and the new patterns. I want to knit so much after seeing your projects. Have just finished the Musselburgh hat, finishing Stephen Wests secret sock along , started a Dotted Rays shawl and tryin so hard to discipline myself to not casting on new projects.I like the Douglas Cardy you have been showing us as well and agree we need a baggy cardy in our winter wardrobe.Your striped jumper looks gorgeous.Congrats on your two year anniversary.

Congratulations on 2 years podcasting! I love your show, its always a pleasure to see your new knits and the lovely products you stock. My tan project bag is in constant use and it’s really well designed. I’d recommend them to anyone. The moisturiser is also great, although my cat is not a fan of the scent which I love. Your enthusiasm for knitted fabric is so contagious. I’m sitting in bed, looking at your latest episode, and drooling at the new DK (8 ply) from JAT. I did get enough of the KBN organic Falklands Merino to make 3 sweaters at the reduced price. I’m a bit sad that the new KBN fibre will not be organic but I guess it’s a long term financial decision and that’s important for the continuation of the business in the long run. The increased freight costs have really hit a lot of people in unforeseen ways as you can attest to. I am a KZbin subscriber so don’t see ads because I can’t stand the constant interruptions, I’m so glad you are doing this wonderful work and thank you so much.

Thank you for supporting my podcast, its very much appreciated. I'm excited about the new KBN yarn, but have to say I can't compare it to the previous one as i didn't get any. I'm really hoping it fills a place i have in my shop for a lovely DK that is soft to skin.

Hi Lisa, thanks for another fabulous episode. Your Stripes jumper looks great and I love the colours you have chosen for the Alden jumper, will be beautiful. As for using stash scraps for the Sea grass pattern, I think I have seen that it is also possible to hold scrap fingering yarn double to get the DK gauge, which offers even more marling potential. It is in my queue to knit.

I love that you're knitting swatches in your yarn. I know it's time consuming and breaks into a skein so I always really appreciate it when selelrs and dyers do that, makes choosing so much easier and better informed. I'm just a wee bit jealous about your Canada trip. How wonderful!

Gosh, that was a very busy podcast, you have been very busy knitting etc. Everything that you have in your show notes is very practical and exciting. I was thinking about the tea cosy, I know that my Grandmother would have loved this and she would have said that her clever Granddaughter made it for her, so its special. I have only Colour work once before and it worked out. I think though that you could sell ice to Eskimos because you have so much confidence. I am knitting my second top down sweater and the first one I ripped and reknit it 5 times but finally it worked. Its the TinCanknits The Simple Sweater but it is all new to me. I have ripped this one 3 times but I hope now that I have got it and I am writing it down as I go, I haven't remembered to do that before. Anyhow I had better let you go and get on. I love the light bulb stitch markers and the beautiful colours. I think its funny that I was wondering if you had done a pocast and was looking today to see if it had arrived. I think that there are 2 podcasts that I don't sleep through, yours is one of them. Catch up next time, take care.

I really don’t understand the DK issue Lisa . I live in Brisbane . I don’t particularly feel the cold ,and I’m 65 so it’s not because I’m younger etc. I wear DK sweaters in winter all the time. And I also always wear something underneath. I can’t wear wool next to skin virtually at all . Even the yarnadelic I bought from you will need a light shirt or top underneath , I have super sensitive skin. But I don’t find DK weight particularly hot at all. I think 4 ply being knitted at a smaller denser gauge is warmer really . I was going to do alpine bloom in yarnadelic, but changed my mind as I’d need something under it. I can’t wait to find a pattern for it for next autumn winter though. It’s so pretty .
@UnwindandKnitwithMe Жыл бұрын
Hi Sharon, i have done a bit of research and think the difference between woolen spun and worsted spun can be the difference between garments being warmer or cooler, i have touched on this subject briefly on my latest podcast, hope you find it interesting. I really hope you find a project for your Yarnadelic, it really is a beautiful yarn. My latest podcast should be live Thursday evening. Thank you for supporting my podcast and store.

Hi Lisa, I have enjoyed your podcast today. You were talking about being warmer or cooler in different plys of yarn (4 ply/8 ply) I think the same thing, could that be the difference between 'Woollen spun' and 'Worsted spun'?? I love the cozyness of my J&S (2 ply jumper weight) jumper and I feel it's as warm as my DK merino ones. Just a thought! 🤔🤷. Cheers
@UnwindandKnitwithMe Жыл бұрын
You are probably correct, I'm not very experienced on the subject of woolen spun and worsted spun but i'm going to do some homework on the subject.Thank you for supporting my podcast, its very much appreciated.

So pleased to have found an NZ knitting podcast! Congratulations on 2 years 🎉 As a new knitter, I have a question about your gauge swatches with the eyelets, which seem to indicate the needle size you used? How do you do these for the in-between sizes (e.g. 3.5, 3.75)? Thanks 😊
@UnwindandKnitwithMe Жыл бұрын
Hi Debbie I use the US needle size to indicate the needle size. So a 3.5mm needle is a US4 a 3.75mm needle is a US5 Hope this is helpful.
