I really loved the suggested interventions here, and the philosophy of ethically managing the situation to the increased humanity of both parties, not being fearfully dismissive, but engaging with the content that is implied by the transferance.

I love this discussion! I currently engage two psychotherapists at the professional level, as well as am in an email-based conversation with a new friend, a psychiatrist with analytic training. I "love" each one but I'm not (consciously) "in love" with any of them, unless being in love includes an intense energy that feels teen-aged and obsessed with deeply getting to know highly-intelligent men.
