I think caravan “rampages” will be difficult due to geography and travel time. If you use some kind of diminishing return, caravans will just stack up

There is some risk in regards to social status to a degree too, if a neighbouring node constantly attacking caravans of another node then there some risk those people will get sick of you and destroy your node or go out of the way to attack ur caravans and things too. Your bounty hunter system can be when sonone sell an item on the black market (Since u get lower sale value) that difference in value can go into a reward pool for killing that person as a bounty. So if an item would sell for 120g normally but on black market its only 100g that 20g extra would then be out into the bounty reward for that person for the reward (Could make it 10g instead if they wanted to keep a gold sink). It also adds a game/infamy reputation to the bandits since they can be like yeah i have a 1k bounty type thing to other bandits players :p Could also add a skill tree for bandit/pirate where there could be passives to reduce the bounty you receive from selling good (So more money goes to gold sinks) or ur fenced good can be worth more and so on. Could make it so if u fail attacking a caravan you cant join a caravan event for 5 minutes so you can zerg rush it by dieing and running back over and over, you could however go corrupt and do it i guess but then u get hit by corruption penalty as tradeoff so should be fine there.

On the one hand, I want PvP, but on the other hand I'd want them to focus on the economic aspect of caravans. Having a PvP battle could overshadow everything else and I'm not sure how far they are with combat. If they do and it looks good, I'd be much more hopeful for an early A2.

It will be hard, and everyone will not have successful caravan runs and people will lose loot. That is the most exciting part ! I believe people are used to getting in a line for content and just knowing they will succeed cause it’s a free handout. Can’t wait Also there is risk to attacking that Steven has already laid out. Gear damage, time wasted, if you are a known attacker your name will be known no one will let you run the caravans can be secluded socially and wasting resources to hopefully be successful

For caravan risk/reward for attackers, i would actually like to see atrackers dropping gear on death. Opting in to attacking could make it so only defenders could loot you. Opting in for defenders means you can loot the dead attackers. Caravaneers are risking their goods, bandits should too. Gives more risk for attackers, gives more reward for opting in defenders.
