I really hope AoC manages to provide multitude of different playstyles across all archetypes and classes. The last thing I want to see is a situation where the game design limitation and "meta" boils down available playstyles to few options. Variety of gameplay is the key to the game's depth and longevity for me.

As long as 1 class cannot do everything. I hate wow comparisons because that's pretty much a single player game with other players running around. They allow every class to tank, dps and heal. I want aoc to force classes to need other classes. It's an mmo, people should go make a friend lol. But i get it, it's 2024. People want dynamic gameplay. I wonder how much subclasses flare will add. We're looking at level 20 stuff.

WoW is such a terrible example because of this my friend recently did a mid level dungeon to try to encourage me to play WoW as a healer and he was like "wtf do I not need to heal anyone? Nobody is taking any damage" because every class just takes care of their own needs.

Roarior made an excellent point, that translates to extends to the Fighter and Ranger as well as the Tank. Those abilities seem to be very locked into a certain weapon set which makes the whole choice around weapons really limited.

Until a Fighter/Ranger is pumping out a less effective AoE Maim, the trick is having the cost of using those melee skills at range become less effective, you should have to weigh if this fits into your particular play style and if the loss of overall effectiveness is worth it.
