I’m a Delta Airlines mechanic, not a pilot. But an airplane nut. Literally my favorite show to listen to every week! Keep it up guys. Oh yeah, because of the delta thing, do you think I should buy a Porsche or a mustang? 😂 to be honest I’m more of a Z06 guy, so I’m honestly torn lol.

I don't even work in aviation. I just love that we can mess with physics in astounding machines piloted by people with a mindset that is less and less rewarded these days. Still my fave podcast.

Being a Catholic and a man of faith, we do what we can do. I fail a lot, but that is why we call it faith. Being a retired Army officer and now an Engineer with 20 years in business I understand missed opportunities. I thrive on faith. When one door closes, another one opens.

As a retired Army guy, you guys are scaring the hell out of me. I use drones in my company for land surveying. The 107 certifications are not hard to get. We use LiDar to do topographic work. Now drones are killing drones and soldiers. Tough world we are living in.

The Blue Angel memorial for Kooch in Smyrna is really well put together. The jet overlooks the airport and is lit up at night. There are pictures and plaques with Captain Kuss on them and there’s also a Blue Angel playground nearby.

Talking about size of planes on domestic routes, I recall that when I lived in Japan in the early 80s, between JAL and ANA, there were about twelve 747s per day between Sapporo (Chitose) and Tokyo. There were also a couple of A300s from the domestic airline TDA.

On the MHM, I s strife with losing my pilot slot in ROTC for a while but after going a different route in the AF I've been able to slowly reconcile and mentor junior officers and enlisted members asking the way. May not be the path I wanted but it's the path someone else needed.

The firefighting world is really dangerous.. recently i listened a podcast special ep about firefighting and they had this pilot who recently retired and had been flying firefighting for 30 years flying Airtractors and Dromaders.. he told 50 people that he knew personally died in firefighting ops related accidents , and another 30 more he didnt personally knew died in the same operations he was flying .. he had to drop water over the burning wreck of crashed planes/helicopters more than once and even they had to put armor in the air tractors cause they got shot at in south america by farmers..

I was fortunate enough to watch the last Harrier Demo at the MCAS Cheery Point airshow a few weeks back. It was pretty impressive to watch. Having said that, I don't really see the need for a 5th gen VSTOL aircraft. I have a hard time imagining a $100 million dollar stealth flying computer operating from anything else but a very secure, very manicured, MAYBE slightly shorter runway.

Over 42,514 people across the U.S. died in traffic accidents in 2022 vs 358 people in civil aviation mishaps in 2022 and zero fatal mishaps involving passenger jet aircraft in 2023. The overselling, overcrowding constant growth model will absolutely lead to serious mishaps.

Actually the drone following max verstappen was full throttle although it was rainy... Awesome footage.. But as far as the topic is concerned.. Drones are scary as h8k. I can imagine they are very hard to track. Not sure how to prevent seriously bad stuff with these. Banning drone traffic in urban or key areas and a way to track them and bring them down is one thing.

1:56:00 Mover makes the perfect case for U.S. high speed rail investment and transportation infrastructure 'fleet' diversity. The one more lane road ephilosophy never worked and only creates induced demand making traffic worse. Movers description of airlines overselling flights at cheaper prices effectively creates the same situation. There are many U.S. flights to cities in close proximity to eachother that have no rail service of any kind. The U.S. is facing the consequences of exceedingly poor infrastructure planning and execution policies of cae centric post war suburban expansionism. Remember Americans are spending hundreds of billions every year on road maintenance alone.... Meanwhile airlines keep getting bailouts of tens of billions every few years despite consistently worsening buisiness practices, increasing executive payouts and airport infrastructure crowding with less capability to expand due to suburban expansionism and the insane cost of U.S. infrastructure maintenance in 2024. Capitalism sure is workin 😂
