Brilliant channel rich. So easy when you spend all your time carp fishing to forget how much fun there is out there with other species.👍

Great days fishing there mate. Something about Cats just turns me off fishing for them, but you may have inspired me. A water I have access to has Catfish present so I may give it a go. Its great to see some lovely warm sunshine though, almost forgotten what it was like. Roll on the warm days and nights ahead.

Enjoyed that mate. As if you caught those two bigger ones in a day session. Nice little bonus to see another Norfolk legend enter the screen in Mr Goble.

Loved vid mate. Gave me some good tips for my next cat trip. Only started fishing for cats last year and have to say they are awsome. May not be every ones cup of tea but something special about their raw power and strange features. 👍

New sub, l9ve yr channel, fished for 30 plus yrs ( then had EVERYTHING STOLEN 😢) broke me, lost the lot & my will to start again ( where do you start after loosing everything) so after 6-7 years I started buying carp tackle, spent what 5 years carping but ive just spent more than I'd admit on a pole waller rod etc, when carping i caught a bream was disappointing ( friend said no he weighed it- 12.07 & I was disappointed 🙄. So that's when I invested in course tackle- also going Ebro ( been France the last 3 yrs) this spring, hopefully I beat my 130lb PB 🎣🎣🎣, great channel ( what lake is this BTW ) Thanks in advance 😉

Just wow, stunning lake, them catfish are amazing creatures, for aday session too, incredible, what strength rod did you use and was you using mono or braid? Please, good health and safe travels, cheers craig
@rmf5743 жыл бұрын
If he doesnt answer, here are some general recommendations. Any rod over 3.5lb with a through (progressive) action. You can get away with a 3lb rod but for anything over 50 or 60 pounds, i wouldnt go below 3.5lb. Mono or braid is personal preference, if you use mono dont go below 20lb and for braid dont go below 60lb. The general advantages and disadvantages for braid and mono apply, mono is more abrasion resistant and more forgiving so thats what i use. Tip: DONT USE A SPOD ROD! They have no fish playing action and will either snap on a strong fish or do it damage.

Also, i recommend looking at the catfish conservation group website for information to get started.

I had a catfish on from the Trent, I was extremely surprised but I lost it at the net, it was roughly 15lb from what I saw of it. I'd love to catch 1 again and that was on a big chunk of luncheon meat with pellets and ground halibut pellets in a 3oz black cap.

@@all-roundanglerwithrichwil6161 Some great cats, imagine being on your own in the dark trying to land one of the big ones, had a few anglers smile to themselves when they saw the 60" landing net l used, have also started wearing a Vass pvc waterproof jacket when handling fish as l have found the smooth surface doesn't remove any slime.
