I've encountered something interesting: when setting up a block as an entity (selecting the block and pressing control+t), a menu will appear. Usually I'll have already changed the block to the appropriate entity - for example, a glass window to 'func_breakable', or a block that'll be a trigger to 'trigger_once'. However, when selecting a block and pressing control+t, a menu will appear reading: (things in square brackets are things I've added for clarification!) "You have selected an existing entity (a '[usually func_wall, but this time when selecting a trigger entity, it reads trigger_once.]'). Would you like to add the selected solids to the existing entity? If you select 'No', a new entity ('func_wall') will be created." I've alternated between pressing yes or no, but I'm not sure what either one does. I tend to have one thing selected when this window pops up, so I don't know why it's asking if I'd like to add 'selected solids'. Any help or advice would be appreciated, thank you! :)

Nevermind, I found the issue: I kept pressing control+t instead of just double clicking the block. If I double click the block, it opens up the menu without any issue. Problem solved!!

Is there a way to make a trigger that doesn't need the player to walk through or hit a button to trigger its target? Like triggering when a room starts Edit: figured it out. All I did was put a trigger once in a square around the player start and have that connected to a multi manager. Thanks for teaching about the multi manager as I used to just spam a bunch of trigger once boxes :) Edit: 2 there is a flag for the trigger once that makes it so any monster can trigger it

is there a way for triggers to have conditions like for example having all the enemies dead?
@Chaos70403 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Great question! I don’t think there is a direct way to achieve certain conditions, you may have to think of alternative ways within the trigger entities limitations.
