Great video! I was wondering however how i would go about making a barney stand in front of a door with an idle animation and then having him move out the way when a trigger is activated. Kinda like in the base game when you have to get a HEV suit before being allowed to continue. When trying this it works without an idle animation in the scripted_sequence but it doesn't work with said animation is inputted in the scripted_sequence (Like stated in the video). Is there a workaround for it? EDIT: Nvm, i figured it out (again :p ). You just have to have 2 scripted_sequences with the same name, one which has the idle animation inputted and the other has to have the move command. Then trigger them both and voilá

I actually used the " fence " animation on an Otis when making a simple tiny thing for Opposing Force. As soon as he went for that candy machine, he got zapped, ouch! Either way, very useful information.

Hello, thanks for your tutorial, Do you know if you can upload your own sound effect instead of only the one available in half life files ? Same question for the skin of monsters, I would like to personalize the NPC

i have a question.... i never managed to get the sonic pecking pit alien thing to work.....do you know how ? its 'pit' is in the entities and model viewer list but wont appear out of it wen placed on map iirc ?

do you know how i can import models from other maps? ive decompiled and reskinned the .mdl files , but i cant figure out how to add them to the map. i can only add standard half-life entities like monsters and scientists and barney

Hello! I am not 100% sure what you mean by models. You can use the monster_generic to choose a model from Half-Life's model collection

@@Chaos7040 i am basically trying to add killable NPC's to a city environment, using NPC models i downloaded. i opened them in jed's model viewer and they are all fully animated

Nice Videos! And Tutorials. Can you help me with a thing? I want to make a "Barney" to open a door for me, like in Half-Life's Campaign. Barneys will go to door and do a animation, and succesfully opens a door. How Can I do that? Please let me know :)

I am happy to hear! Thank you so much! I believe the way to do this is by having the scripted sequence entity target a multimanager that targets the door to be opened. Then you can use the multimanager to time the door opening right after barney finishes his animation

@@Chaos7040 Nice! I get it. Also, How Can I make the player, when he passed a trigger point (which is trigger_once [I guess]) and when he passed like in Opposing Force., I want to vanish player's guns

@@Chaos7040 I wish I know how to make that. But I found it. If you gonna re-upload or do a part of these "triggers" (which you said will do), add "player_weaponstrip". It auto vanishess all guns. All so thanks

hey man so i have made a scripted seqence were a scientist walks to a console and does an animation but when the SS is triggered nothing happens the scitist is already at the spot with out walking and i don't have it set to instsintanious i have it set to walk also the animation does not play but i know theres and animation for the scientist called console

@@InternetLegends-fe6ty Tested it out, and found it really strange too. Nothing you did wrong or anything, its like the NPC just didn't want to work. I deleted him, and used a different name and it worked. Also, you had two separate trigger entities activating SS03 ( one near player_info_start, and other by door). If you want scientist to do it twice, it may be best to create another SS with trigger.
