She was a country singer, a rock singer, and an opera singer. She starred in a Broadway play and a movie. And she always traveled to the beat of a different drum.

I was fortunate to see Linda Ronstadt many times in concert. From a benefit evening at The Troubadour in LA, to large stadium and fair shows to a House of Blues concert in New Orleans with Emmy Lou Harris, Linda Ronstadt was simply incredible in concert. I am so thankful for all the great music across so many genres that she has given to us. Glad you decided to spotlight this brilliantly talented singer.

With Linda's performance of Different Drum, a song less than 3 minutes long, released in the summer of 1967, she began a career that has entertained and enriched all of us. In only 3 minutes she created a personal enduring memory lasting a lifetime.

I have loved Linda since I first heard her voice way back in the early 70’s. My wife wasn’t impressed with her poster on the the back of the bedroom door. We saw her in concert in Adelaide, Australia in about 1985, premium seating at Adelaide Oval, still cry whenever I hear her voice. She even roller skated on stage.

Thank you for your wonderful video. Linda Ronstadt was my "crush" from the first time I heard and saw her and, lucky me, my first girlfriend could have been her identical twin! I ran into her when I was watching my brother play with his new band and the three boys there were brothers and she also came to watch them.

Shame you didn’t mention the three albums she recorded with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra which IMHO is her best work. Her voice was at its peak and her interpretations of those songs from the Great American Songbook are up there with Sinatra and Fitzgerald.

I knew of her from Different Drum. Neil Young came to St. Louis, where she was the opening act. It was a small venue, maybe 10,000 people. Two things of interest: Her voice was so powerful it was echoing off the back wall. She is the only opening act to receive a standing ovation to this day and many concerts later.

I have ALS, which is much like Parkinsons disease. Both are neurological disorders. My Integrative Health doctor has successfully stopped the progression of my ALS and the same natural treatments could stop Parkinsons. I have tried to contact Linda Rondstadt several times through several avenues but have not been able to make contact. I wish I could let her know about my treatments and how they may stop her Parkinsons. It's a shame, the mainstream medical system won't talk about or consider these treatments that worked on me.

If a woman has to be mentioned as a woman, she's not worth mentioning. Being the best woman X is no accomplishment at all. The best woman tennis player of all time would rank around 500 in the list of best tennis players. Linda is worth mentioning without bringing up her being a woman.

@hes_no_rocketsurgeon Жыл бұрын
@@berniedropstheneedle684 No, your own quote re the eagles @2:30 and your 50% hit on rate on their last names. Frey is pronounced "fry" not "fray" and Leadon is like the metal. For a band as huge as they were, I'm always baffled at how often their names are mangled.
