I started shooting trad 4 years ago for the nostalgia, more or less. I was pretty accomplished on a compound, shooting for 25 years, etc. I will say that switching to trad gear will knock you directly off of any archery high horse you have placed yourself on by way of compound gear...It is not easy, but it is so much fun.

Haters will always hate. Just keep your pods coming. It's winter and outside of shooting and working out I need an out and your pods bring some great advice. Haters are arrogant and always will be. Keep the pods rolling and sharing your experiences. Good timing Aaron. I am shooting everyday with my trad. Taking it out for the first time this fall. All the best guys!

glad your gonna give trad a shot,,i think you will love it,and yeagh you got ta practice a lot, but the thing is the better you get"the more you want ta practice,,, good luck and good hunting

Stalker all the way baby! My wolverine fxt is 67lbs and is shooting a 820 grain arrow 175 fps. It's unreal. At 64 inches it draws as smooth as butter. Great podcast. Can't wait to see the results in september.

I've been looking for the Whiny Doughy Hater's Podcast, but in the meantime, I'll hang out here and encourage you men to continue the good work. It is my aspiration to hunt with a stick bow in 2017, hopefully one I make myself. Cheers!

I can stack them at 100 with the wheel bow , but I just love the stick bow ! I have hunted the last 4 years with nothing but my recurve it all started when my dad told me he wanted to see if I was good enough to get a deer with ( that bent stick ) he would say lol, he was also sage 4 and time was not on my side . I hunted the hardest I ever had in my life ! Then I got it done ! He was elated and in disbelief I had done it and I was myself can say that I was to! He passed August 20 2017. His dream was to go to Colorado and chase elk with a bow . And a week before he passed he told me he wanted me to go shoot one for him cause he knew he never was going to Be able to, and he said it had to be with the stick bow lol. So after that it just stuck and have been hunting with it ever since . Hopefully I 2019 or 2020 I will be able to go chase them, cause I have been practicing for sure ! I won't know a dam thing about what I'm doing but I sure as hell will try lol! God bless and I hope you are successful and prove all the haters wrong!

It is easier to get good with a bow with sights on it. But I believe that traditional bows are more fun. We have a better time at 3D tournaments, and we have turned many in our club to the dark side with traditional tackle. I shot compound bowhunter, bowhunter freestyle and freestyle for many years and finally decided I wanted to go to the dark side. I think it is more fun and you get out of it what you put in it. I have won many traditional state championships over the years. And like I said it is just more fun

You will learn where the picture looks right when you get it back to your full draw at whatever distance you are shooting, you know when it looks right so let go

Aaron , you're going to have a lot of fun! That's why I do it! Some hunting situations are actually a little easier with a recurve, especially really close shots

Yes, I agree these people will put out comments and criticisms that they would never say to your face. That's why I don't have anything to do with Facebook because I saw that in my own family. And one of them made a comment about me until I drove to their house and knocked on their door. And they're like every just a comment well it was a very cruel comment and I ain't going to put up with it. So I don't do any of that social media liberal run bullshit just for that reason. People will make comments only because they know they are anonymous
