Episode 7: Prepping for DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation) surgery

The Secret Life of PD: In this episode, we are joined by Roz Parish, a Parkinson's friend, who is preparing to undergo DBS surgery (Deep Brain Stimulation) two weeks from now. We had her share her excitement, fears, and ultimately, what led her to this surgical decision. DBS might not be for everyone, but it's always helpful to know what options are out there for PD patients. As always - consult with your doctor!

Hair is overrated! After my OCT 2021 DBS surgery/shave I've found that hats fit better! Saves time getting out the door. Thanks Roz!

I’m just beginning the process . My first concern is choosing the right team… my hospital has a new surgeon coming in.. what if he’s not the one for me?

Why do they shave entire head? My dbs and me on KZbin had a woman who didn't need to.do that

I'm not sure if it's the surgeon that does things differently or if it's the device that is used. But one of our PD friends also did NOT have to shave her head.
