Absolute pleasure to watch once again. You are doing so well and I personally want to hybernate in your craft room Jordan. I think you all are going to have the best Christmas so far because you are so in tune with your area and your villagers. To make the tuck pointing on the brick wall look a bit better, after tucking the grout/cement (Whatever you are using) take a bucket of water and an old rag, wet the rag, wring it out leaving a bit of water in it and run over the grout/cement This will smooth out the damp grout and make it look smoother between the bricks You want to wait until the grout is about half dry to wie it down just experiment with the amout of water in the rag when wiping the grout.

Would be so grateful if you could share the lime pre mix you are using. Its a job we have and getting different advice everytime.
@frombournemouthtobulgariaАй бұрын
Honestly, I have no idea on the brand. They actually stopped selling it at the building merchants near us and just sold the Var/lime what ever you want to call it. But if you buy the lime, it can come dry or wet. And you just mix that with a bit sand. If you add a little cement in it does prevent cracking, but for pointing you can just use sand and lime (obviously add some water). There is no wrong or right way, really, just different ways to do the job. Don't over complicated it 😊 just do a little test patch and see if you like it, if it doesn't go right just scrape it out and try something different. 😊

@@frombournemouthtobulgaria Thank you so much. Maybe I am just over thinking it as it is the most DIY project I've every attempted. WIsh me luck :)

Dont put cement in the lime as it will make the house damp

If you find poop in the nesting boxes, it might be from the hens scratching at the floor, so placing them up higher, 16"-18", will get rid of the problem. 🐔 Hope you'll all be nice and snug by wintertime!

Hope you have a lovely time here in Bulgaria. As for where to start, honestly, it's so hard because its so diverse. We really loved our recent visit to Blavorograd - and really, it nearly tempted us to consider a move. Still never say never for us on buying a village house near this town. It's beautiful. But a lot of bulgaria is beautiful!

@@frombournemouthtobulgaria thanks so much. Hiring a car having landed at 9pm then navigating the Rila mountains was a bit of a brain furt. I will do my searches on Blavorograd. Cheers

Chickens roost in trees, I suggest you go and cut some suitable branches. Their feet are designed to curve around their perches and I’ve heard planks can damage or be very uncomfortable? The good news is you get to be able to use your 2x4s for diy.

Why didn't you decide to plaster the wall in the bedroom, but used var between the bricks instead? Just curious.

Because its an exposed brick feature wall. 1 wall in the room is like this the rest are rendered. It ass character to the room 😁
