A general rule with boats is that you double hose clamp critical hoses like raw water lines, hoses connected to seacocks, fuel lines, vent lines, etc. Basically anything that can let water in and sink you, or flammable fluids out that can cause fires. Might want to consider double hose clamping some of those fuel hoses. Also make sure things aren't rubbing and chaffing. Looks like some of your fuel hose clamp tails are rubbing up against other hoses. They can cut them over time. Any hose or wire going through a bulkhead or other rough cut holes in the floors or cabinet walls should have chafe guards as well. Do you have a seacock to the outside for your sink drain in the galley? The hose goes into that wooden box, but you should have a shut off seacock on a thru hull for that drain somewhere. Hopefully there is one where ever that drains overboard and hopefully that doesn't dump into your bilge. It looks like you have a proper seacock on the head sink drain, and that it was open to allow the sink to drain. Was the stopper in the sink that caused it to overflow otherwise it should have drained overboard? Large sponges and a bucket are your friend for getting the last bit of water out of a bilge. If you are getting that much back pressure when you fill your water tank, your vent line / fitting might be plugged. The vent line should be letting the trapped air out.

I know in your intro you say that you don't know what you're doing, but how do you know! So many hoses, pipes and wires, Holy Cow! I am so impressed. ❤

I'm glad you are excited to watch our progress! My goal is to share a new episode every 3 weeks. I am self teaching myself how to edit (which has been taking me an average of 10-15 hours just to put together just 1 episode. Between a full-time job, enjoying life, I'm slowly working to edit all the backlog raw footage we have. Many more episodes to come and soon we hope to be caught up real time. But to give you an update...WE ARE NOT GIVING UP ON OUR DREAMS ANYTIME SOON 😉

You two are a great team. Our water tanks hold 200 gallons and it takes a long time to fill them up. You guys are really making good progress.
@sailingnehan Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Do you have to fill up at a trickle so it doesn't overfill too quickly?
@DIYNauticalDream Жыл бұрын
@@sailingnehan we fill it up as fast as the hose will allow, but listen for the change is sound before it gets to full or it will turn into a fountain lol.
@707getbent6 Жыл бұрын
We can't go full throttle on the hose. It's like our vent doesn't let enough air out fast enough

I like watching your videos. It comforts me to know that others struggle with jobs like I do. I especially like the moaning and groaning while trying to work laying on the floor 😂 you’re keeping it real!
@sailingnehan Жыл бұрын
Hahaha yes, especially after he has spent dozens of hours down there that it's harder as we get near the end. He is a big guy in a tiny space, the groaning is getting intensified!

Kinda looks like a type of "Varnish" from letting Diesel sit for an extended period of time.
@sailingnehan Жыл бұрын
Yes! It definitely feels and looks like a varnish. Very soft and shiny. Still slightly a mystery on what exactly it is.

You guys are a great team with very nice presentation..keep up the great work. Fuel tanks are just a pain, but check out the comment I left on your first video. I treated my fuel really good and the fuel treatment broke down most of the sludge. Then I ran, and still run my homemade polisher so much that nothing really makes it to my dual racors...they've stayed clean and water free.

After deep cleaning our tanks like we did, we had no issues. I also bought a couple extra big filters, plus put a inline filter in, with a bunch of extra in line filters since those are so cheap

We still haven't bothered playing with tank 3 yet, but some day we will get after it. Really appreciate all the tips and advice. Keep them coming

You both are doing an amazing job. How many times have you left the slip so far?
@sailingnehan Жыл бұрын
We have only been out twice! Once when we hauled out (our broker was the one driving that time lol) and 1st time all on our own when we went upriver to the fuel dock (check our episode 7 if you haven't already) :)
