Nice job on the seats. I've seen a lot of seats from professionals that have the crooked piping. Glad you showed how to fix it.

We did use them, but it was super hard to show. The washers go on the seat face to protect the vinyl form the upper seat arms. They slide onto the lower seat pins before installing the upper seat.

Fantastic video, thanks! I'm about to recover my '67 Corvair seats, identical to these.

Glad this helped!

We wouldn't worry too much about it Moon. You run a greater risk of seat damage in trying to separate the tops from the bases to install the discs than damage caused by them not being there. Especially if you don't have a lot of back seat passengers.

This video was a great help for me, doing my Camaro seats. Thanks!

(From Jeff) Well, ummm yeah. Years ago doing a set of Mustang buckets for a 1968, I couldn't get the listing rod to line up with the listing wire in the seat. I "thought" the ring was a little further away than it was. Worst part was that the wire cutters were on the work bench across the room. Funny now...painful then.

No problem Zaraak. Wow $180 for a VR? Check for gold plating mate! Won't even say how cheap the little buggers are here in the US...Hopefully we gave you a bit of a chuckle!

In the teardown video you mentioned using the window handle washers, NPD part C-10797-10A. I went through all 3 of the seat rebuild videos and I didn't see you install them anywhere. Where are these used? Great videos, thanks for making them!

Thanks. I don't recall having to use those on my 69 Corvette seats, should I have? I did those seats about 10 years ago.

What paint did you use on the metal seatbacks?
@AutoRestoMod3 жыл бұрын
I just used Rustoleum. Cheap decent enamel.

Do you plan on doing the rear seat? I want to do this on my 67 convertible. Thanks again for all the great info!
@AutoRestoMod11 жыл бұрын
Yes, unfortunately the rear seat is rusted away on the bottom edge and it is a fold down. We're still looking around for a replacement--which are really hard to come by.
@richbrecklin326411 жыл бұрын
You can do mine. .. Then send it back. .ha. I have a bunch of projects to keep you busy.
@AutoRestoMod11 жыл бұрын
rich brecklin LOL Well, yeah we could, but the owner of those seats we did get done would be miffed at the theft of his rear seat covers...

Ha. Makes sense. .I guess. But seriously, thanks again for all the vids. I am far from a mechanic and bought the 67 in the summer. You guys have helped a lot. More camaro stuff the better. Keep up the good work.

rich brecklin You are welcome! We appreciate your watching the show. We have some plans for a friends '68 RS (we did the Digitails on his car) That will come around after the first part of 2014.

You need to buy a pneumatic hog ring tool. You will cut your install time in half
@AutoRestoMod10 ай бұрын
Might just. Don't know if my frequency of install justifes the expenses.
