I grew up there from 1964, till 1987. So many great memories, and still get back there from time to time. Still have a lot of family there. My grandpa preached at Englewood Baptist for 35 years, maybe longer. I went to Englewood, then Stalker schools. Ours was also the first class to go all 4 years at Bedford North Lawrence HS, but I spent many nights in the BHS gymnasium watching basketball. I got to watch Larry Bird play there his Sr. Year of high school, before he went to ISU. Camping in the Hoosier Nat’l forest, swimming in the quarry and hoping to not get caught, or snake bit. Jackson’s Gas station, the Settelight, Snow’s ‘drive in, and on, and on. So many great memories. Thank you for posting this.

Very nice. I lived near and attended Lincoln Elementary for a few of my young years in the early 70s. I cherish memories of my friends, family and experiences in that simpler time and place.

Sorry, Bloomington is the limestone capital of the world😊(just kidding. Sort of...). He's exactly right about the term "Cutters". Never heard that in my life until the movie "Breaking Away". I'm a Bloomington native, btw.

I lived in Bloomington from 1965 to 1998. The so called cutters didn’t like us much because…… well we dated their cute girls to much. Funny how we had longer hair then and they made fun of us then years later we had hair cuts and the “country types” had long hair. Go figure.

You’re darling- I think now, Bedford lacks a lot. Probably back in the 50’s it was better. Like most of this country.
