There’s a lack of participation in motocross because of how much it costs to game! Not everybody can afford a 10k bike to compete let alone travel around. It will always be what holds back the sport.

I have a $20,000 KTM. I'm a decent rider. I got passed by a kid on a 2007 YZ250 that cost maybe $4k. The bike only takes you so far.

That's why it's so much easier to make money and have a career in a stick and ball sport the upfront participation cost isn't as high and it makes sense and the other crazy part is so much more money that can be made off stick and ball sports.. Go to a college football tailgate party before the game see how much money is in that parking lot

In regard to Suzuki... I thought I read a story about them focusing on building a new manufacturing facility. After the tsunami in, I think 2011, they decided to move to higher ground. Moto people may not be aware, but Suzuki won MotoGP as recently as 2018. Like a lot of Japanese manufacturers, when winning moto becomes important to them again, they'll figure out away to do it.

Ryno is spot on with Superdupermotocross. The riders should have just banded together and not participated until the same money was invested in the regular sx/mx season. But no, instead they have to race 3 meaningless races with a purse. Lol. Just like the World series currently in place.

yes, the stadiums are too small for today's 450's! the speedway SX tracks are much better. time to think out of the box. your account of Deegan is right on! that was the spirit of the sport. the Damon Bradshaws. God, the 1980-1990's was the best!

As a spectator, I would like: • triple crown supercross races • open class - any bike in one race • shorter outdoor triple crown races If the top guys leave to go World Series, the next tier guys will fill the void and be just as exciting.

I love Jett and have followed deegan the whole time so love the kid. My curiosity is Jett makes mistakes pretty often and he clearly doesn’t like to hang it out unless he has too. Deegan loves to hang it out and be on that edge. I think much like James and Ricky, deegan is going to probably put Jett in uncomfortable situations where he can’t just turn it on and off and he will have to take the risk he tends to not like to take over and over. There’s been a bunch of times this year haiden is hitting things even James has acknowledged he doesn’t get why the 450 guys were not hitting it because it’s clearly faster.. Even in charlotte this last weekend that quad he was hitting was obviously faster and they mentioned other guys saying it’s not worth the risk, maybe not in that exact moment it wasn’t faster through the rhythm, but ever time deegan and Eli did it they got crazy run at the end and would blow by going down the straight. When Eli couldn’t hit it anymore is when he really lost ground he was gaining in the second moto.

Take A2 from the Supercross schedule and make it the 1st round of the playoffs, expanding the playoffs to 4 rounds making it less gimmicky and giving A2 a prestige that it typically loses to A1.

They didn’t go to Anaheim 3 times a season for no reason. It’s because NO CITY can pack a stadium like Anaheim. Supercross can’t afford to lose another one

Put dirt behind the gate instead of grates for in and outdoors. Bring 42 guys to the playoffs, top 20 in the A main automatically, put the others in the LCQ and move 2 more into the A main, and put the remaining guys into a B main. Let the small guys get a big win! Have the lower half of the field come out and win and get their names out there!

KTM hasn’t even been close to winning a title in motogp. Ktm lost like 2 billion in stock is why they backed everything down. They’re brand is racing and that market depends on the overall health of the economy. It’s the first thing people stop doing

Exactly it sucks. Just like 4 wheel motocross slowly but surely priced its self out of the market. Now there's only 1 brand Yamaha that races in the atv mx nationals so boring used to be awesome with canam suzuki kawasaki honda and ktm now only Yamaha makes one. Same with motocross already happening to suzuki all these companies wanting 12k for a new "dirt bike" like it wipes your ass and shelters you or something is crazy. I love the sport but a motocross bike should not be as expensive as any street bikes period. I remember when new 450s or 250s were 5k out the door and that was do able. Grew up riding my whole life now I got a Harley Davidson Dyna and a 2018 gsxr750 and I want to ride moto again but I can't justify having to sell one of my street bikes one being an expensive Harley Davidson and stilllll not having enough to buy a new motocross bike thats insane....

I'm from Michigan Eli tomac dad John tomac we used to race BMX together here in Michigan before he went on to riding mountain bikes.. My point is a lot of parents don't want to fork over the money and mortgage off the house two or three times for kids to raise motocross when they can go to college get a scholarship get into any one of the major leagues maybe and even as a bench rider make more than most guys in motocross

SX is death by a thousand cuts to motocross. Outdoor tracks mimic SX tracks. Injuries have multiplied . Less participation at grass roots. Top riders don’t like outdoors . Outdoors pays less.

Hey Ryan just wanted to let you know back mid 90s you where my favourite racer thru the McGrath era with all personalities back then & Kawasaki has always been my favourite bikes just wanted you to know as a teen you where my McGrath lol & my favourite race was 97 the first super cross with the 4 stroke & if dug did not have that bike no one was catching you that night you definitely had the speed & skill to of been a champion I have a question in 96 did you guys get the 97 motor? People don’t understand & give Kawasaki the credit they deserved 97 98 when KX 250 motor leap frogged everyone els at that time best motor ever did emig not race a 250 big bore in the 500 class at destinations Anyway people need to keep electric bikes out of moto x or the same thing will happen to 4 strokes that happened to 2 strokes & people what 4 strokes are doing is making bikes way more expensive by 10 year old + 4 strokes blow up no one wants them because there to much $ to rebuild especially compared to a 2 stroke how many low income people by a 4 stroke with there hard earned $ only to have it blow up & they loose everything now they can’t ride Make a 350 for stroke 250 2 stroke class & make moto x GRATE AGAIN

SMX is a playoff. It's like a Tournament. The race for money. A World tour for Motocorss won't work for 40 or more riders. They can't afford it. They should go to 350 for Supercross or limit down the 450. If Jett wasn't injured then Sexton doesn't win Championships. You have to be joking. I work at least 10 hours a day in construction at a professional level. I bust my ass every day framing houses. My weekends are for healing up. I am lucky if I get 2 weeks per year off. These guys are doing what they love and having fun at it. They need to quit sniveling and jump at the chance to represent our country. Barcia and guys like him need to go because they are very disrespectful to there fellow riders. Also Roger Decoster needs to go and someone like Ryan or Bloc Glover need to step up and represent the USA. Decoster was not even born here. Lastly Ricky Carmichael needs to quit running his mouth about himself and start giving credit to the younger riders. If you really want to change the sport for the better than implement these suggestions guys like me the loyal fans.

I was at indy, detroit, redbud and ironman this year also went to Chicago land for smx last year. Chicago had a decent crowd but not compared to nationals or supercross. But also something to consider the smx races are held at places with like 10x the capacity of supercross or outdoors, so makes it look really empty. Texas did seems kinda empty. I wonder if it's bc of football season starting. Idk. Good point though

I think the SMX is stupid. you win the SX, awesome! you win the Outdoor awesome! two different things. these so called Hybrid tracks are a joke. if you are going to do a hybrid it should be done at an outdoor track with a SX section thrown in. you can't replicate outdoors on a flat stadium track. if it's about the money, then the sport is being ruined. The SMX tracks are boring. I've been watching supercross since 1989 and even back then the tracks were better. not the cookie cutter tracks of today.
