Gday Norm. Loving your videos. I yelled out Gday to you at big woody island the other day from our charter seawind 1000. It was a highlight of our Fraser Island charter seeing you. A big part of my interest in cruising is from you. Keep up the good work.

Norm, lovely video as always. Nice to see you open up about the difficulties of finding a companion. I think you already know, but I'll say it here. Your lifestyle and your boat are perfectly respectable. But your boat is actually a very good filter. If the girls arrive on the boat and they try to change your ways and pull you back to the life you left. They're the wrong girls. Stay out there till you can't dude.

G’day mate, what a feeling aye, when a friend moves forward with their life, but in a different direction. I used to feel hurt and then lonely, but upon reflection it speaks so well of those special companions, whose presence feels so good, sort of natural and then their absence hurts in such a unique way before eventually settling into an uneasy feeling of loss. I look at your lifestyle and the floating home you’ve built and can see you are achieving your goals. We only know this life so do all the things that bring pleasure to you. Tomorrow’s a whole new deal so keep on going until you can’t.

the Keppel shuffle brings back fond memories, in the old days especially, having scones in the shell house was a daily highlight and lots of diving, the whole group was alive with sea life, and some nice girls walking along the beach where easy to look at, you are right Norm , the keppels are a great place, in fact one of the best on the east coast of Australia

Hi Norm, We believe we heard some sadness in your voice. We feel for you - there is a couple of ears here for you if you ever wish to have a yarn. Both Lill and I have been in the supportive game and we have a bit of salt water in our veins. We get the call of the sea and how hard it would be to give it up - we have really enjoyed getting to know you through the videos - take care, our thoughts are with you. Just keep your chin up Lord Dude, and enjoy Paradise whilst you still can. Love your travels my friend, and I look forward to each episode. @@MotorSailingforOldDudes I appreciate the joy you give me with your travels; given that I am now too incapacitated to travel myself. My dad was a former Chief (Marine) Engineer , and I loved the ship visits he used to make to his former Navy mates. As a boy; I used to be taken to visit the Engine Rooms, and the Bridge of ships which was vey exciting for a kid mate. I never lost my love of the sea from way back then; 1953 from memory. Cheers my friend!

I know what it's like to be on your own, thinking about what was and what might have been, All too easy to go down the rabbit hole that way. Learning to live each day, seeking your own destiny and enjoying the moment for what it offers is key. I feel you are looking forward and think as you travel around you will soon find enjoyment in different places. Don't forget to go and enjoy a beer in the afternoon and sit and chat with others. OK to be a bit pensive at times also. It's likely that Wombi's health issues have led to her decision to forgo cruising in future. Eventually I have little doubt there will be other companionship in future.

Hey Norm I enjoy following your travel & love keppel island since doing a dive course there in the 80's. I was wondering what dingy do you have? Looks like a good one - aluminium? Size / model?
@MotorSailingforOldDudes Жыл бұрын
Thanks Dude. The dinghy is roto moulded plastic. But light It's called a Spindrift. Don't think they are manufactured any more, but sometimes available 2nd hand.
@thatsshowbiz6438 Жыл бұрын

Norm, you’re not being selfish to choose your own lifestyle and for Wombi to take everything off the boat is her decision and choice. Have you considered asking her why or perhaps their could be a more personal reason for her doing so and wants to go and deal with her illness and destiny on her own. Chin up and we all have a finite number of days so enjoy each one !
