We have to wait a couple of days, but the sea calms down and we sneek out through the Fisherman's Gutter
We cruise extensively along the East Australian Coast on our 13 meter catamaran. Join us as we explore new cruising grounds, cross bars, fix all kinds of problems, ride out rough weather and live aboard for extended periods.

Red to red, port to port so turn to starboard. We recently experienced the Filipino RoRo skippers. They have you on the plot at 10NM and if they have not ascertained your intention by 5NM, they will call you up. Most of the ships we encountered follow the same guidelines. Very strict and well run 24HR operations.

This is a large power vessel underway heading straight towards us. Early and deliberate action 20-30 degree turn to starboard passing each other port side to port side at a safe distance apart.

Weirdest thing was a huge target on the radar at night and NO lights. Whatever she was, 2nm away and heading in opposite direction.
