I had a herniated disc and I was told by surgeon 20 years ago that I would HAVE to get fusion back surgeon. Even after a chiropractor ruptured that very disc I got on an inversion bench. Now I have NO back issues even while working. I recommend it to anyone, chiropractors, not so much.

HELPFUL HINT: I talked to my primary care physician about this product. He is in favor of using them and he had a bit of advice. Most people cant handle being inverted for very long because of the blood rushing to the head thing and becoming uncomfortable. His advice is to pull in very deep slow breaths while inverted. This gives your lungs and body plenty of oxygen, which defeats that out of breath feeling.

Additional tips for new inversion table users: 1. Don't use immediately after eating or drinking, especially if going more heals over head. 2. The height gauge is largely suggestive. If you are torso heavy, start 3" longer. (If you start to short, you may have dificulty coming back to the upright position) You should be able to invert by slowly raising your hands and extending them out SLOWLY over your head, and return to upright by lowering your arms parallel to torso. When you can do this, you have the balance set correctly for your body type. [Example: I'm 6'3", long legs, short (light) torso. My balance point is 6'0"] 3. If a first time user, you should have someone present to assist. I'm not a Dr., only a frequent user. Hope this helps! Stretch well and relax!

@PappyNet015 ай бұрын
Great comment and guidance. I experienced the same about my body when I purchased my inversion table in 1997. Relaxing is so important while using a inversion table because at the early stages of using a inversion table [I had mine stowed for a couple of years] while you feel the blood circulate into parts of my legs it felt electrifying and yet satisfying. However, when I went full inversion and felt my spine pop [like when you pop your knuckles] my body's reflex took over and consequently my muscles overreacted and countered the pulling of gravity and it felt painful.

WARNING! Before using any kind of inversion device, check with your ophthalmologist to be certain you don’t have any level of glaucoma. Inversion devices raise interocular pressure, which can lead to blindness. Glaucoma patients need to keep their heads above their hearts at all times. That means no downward dog or other yoga poses that have the head below the heart, also. There is now such a thing as “Glaucoma Yoga.” Sleep on a wedge pillow. Glad to see he mentioned this.

The issue with these tables is people will do too much too soon. I have one and never invert beyond 60 degrees. You’d much rather do several minutes at 50 or 60 degrees than 1min at full inversion, much more tolerable. And this video is 💯 on not using this table if you have glaucoma or pressure issues in your head, blood vessels in your head are not really designed to pump blood out in full inversion.
@epmanualphysicaltherapy5 ай бұрын
Hi Mike, You are correct! It's important to gradually increase the angle if you feel it's necessary. Not everyone has to go fully inverted. The table is also not recommended for anyone with joint problems or high blood pressure. Thank you so much for mentioning this! 🙌

wouldn't hanging the right way up work just as well for decompressing the lower back? hanging from a chin up bar for example, ought to decompress the lower back with the weight of the legs. hola que tal . nombras colgarte de barra para descomprimir, esa forma activa es complementaria a la tabla de inversion, pero activa, vs pasiva la tabla. la activa no contempla el cuelllo. ademas de hacer yoga, ejercicio y fortalecer espalda, todos unidos para la recuperacion final, no tener dolor, sanar y prevenir.

How long shall I wait after my compression fracture of my L-3 to start inversion therapy? I know I shouldn’t do it right away.
@epmanualphysicaltherapy7 ай бұрын
Hi Advantager355, It's best to wait until your L3 compression fracture has healed before trying inversion therapy. Your doctor can tell you when it's safe based on how well your fracture is healing. They'll use tests like X-rays to check. It's important to get their advice to make sure you start therapy at the right time for your recovery.

You never said how often to used and how many times a day i watch the video till the end and i was waiting for it😩
@epmanualphysicaltherapy11 ай бұрын
Hi Lorena, you can do it as many times as it feels comfortable to do so. It's important to start off gradually and to keep the angle shallow until you get to deeper angles. If you have any hip, knee, or ankle injuries or if you have high blood pressure you should refrain from using an inversion table. 🧡

What about mid back disc protrusion and bulges I have from t4 to t8
@epmanualphysicaltherapy5 ай бұрын
Hi Nikhil, It can be helpful for disc protrusion and bulges in the upper back too. Just in case you are interested we have a playlist for upper back pain help you might find helpful. You can access it here: “Upper Back Pain Help” kzbin.info/aero/PLJVIPiFvv1mbPtvBnvG_URrY92av4QLtO Start with one or two exercises, beginning with the smallest range of motion and the lowest intensity. As you feel stronger, you can gradually increase both the range of motion and intensity. It’s best to do these exercises every day throughout the day. Aim to tire out the muscle without losing form or control. Consistency is key. Always avoid working through pain; soreness and mild discomfort are normal, but pain is not. We hope you found this information helpful to you. We hope you can feel some relief soon. We'd love to hear how you are doing as you progress.🙌 Please take care!

I have the latest inversion table. I hang for 15 - 20 minutes two times a day. It don’t do jack shit to help with my sciatica. I’m gonna try NuroMD to see what that does

How do you feel now

it is Great HOWEVER this Will Kill your Knees... and hips.... and ankles...... The stretching spine is wonderful, but there has to be a better way. Serious damage to knee joints is not a good trade off.

How do you even come to this conclusion?! Worse, why bother throwing out conclusions without throwing out your reasons? Otherwise, you're conclusions just seem like fears. I've used one of these due last 10 years. Am almost 60 and have cervical stenosis in C4,5,6. While I'm only 5-8 and 175 lean mass and do workout with bands 4-5 times per week.... the only issues I've ever had is declining initially too fast. I find it's better to decline in stages of 6 inches until the strap takes over and just use that to get a sense of how my head feels as blood moves to it. If anything, my joints always feel relief as the pressures of gravity allow their internal structures to release their grip at protecting itself.... Do you have anatomical or muscular issues you forgot to offer with your extreme conclusions and death star warnings? 🤔

I wonder if anyone has heard of an inguinal hernia improvement from using an inversion table.
@epmanualphysicaltherapy5 ай бұрын
Hi Veganforlife, We haven’t come across any research or experiences suggesting that an inversion table can improve an inguinal hernia. Hernias typically involve weakened or torn tissue, and while an inversion table might help with spinal issues or back pain, it’s unlikely to directly impact a hernia but we never say never.

Personally it did nothing for me. I tried and tried and tried. I gave the table away. I believe that it might help some. It did not help me.

Hi Edwin, Thank you for sharing your experience with the inversion table! You are absolutely correct! This machine isn't for everyone but it is very helpful to many. Many of us need to experience different techniques to find what works for us. We are so sorry to hear that this didn't work for you but we hope you have been able to find something that was able to offer you some relief. Your feedback means a lot to us!
