Thank you for making this video as I have a 2007 Club Car Precedent. It has 4 - 12 volt batteries with a divider down the middle of the battery tray under the seat. They are begiining to lose there viability as I have some hills on the golf course that the cart really slows down. The lead acid batteries are 4 years old now and they are going to need to be replaced this fall. I was wondering if your clients also want to add accessories to their vehicle, and is this an issue with a Lithium Battery upgrade? I like to have some music playing and a Bluetooth Speaker along with the ability to charge up some phones and range finders. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have some content coming out in the next couple of weeks that will dig into the debate between low amp hour batteries in parallel vs the single unit drop ins.

I have my orange wire from my reducer hooked up to my solenoid so that it provides 12 volt power to an accessories bus bar. Can I attach the positive and negative wires of my meter gauge to the 12v bus bar? I don’t want the meter to be on even when my golf cart is off.

I notice the lights on the batteries when you first installed the batteries are strobing, and then later in the video they are solid. I just installed this kit and they’re strobing. How did you resolve this issue?
@PalmettoBatteryPros Жыл бұрын
If this happens you need to hook the charger up to each battery individually and max charge, then hook them all up together via the bus bar.

Thanks for the reply. I did that and still strobing on one battery. Maybe it takes a few charges to fully sync together? Thanks again.

Do you have a video on how to by pass the computer on a club car DS? I have a 2002 Club cart DS that I want to convert to Lithium Batteries.

No, but I’ll surely do one on the next DS that comes through

What is the benefit of this set up vs a single battery box that’s 48v 105 amp?
@PalmettoBatteryPros Жыл бұрын
I still recommend single units. One battery BMS, less opportunity to fail or unbalance.

Eerily similar to Relion batteries and Allied drop-ins. What are you thoughts between those 3 drop-in replacements?
@PalmettoBatteryPros Жыл бұрын
Allied is switching over to single unit drop ins. I’m interviewing the allied team in two weeks for the Channel. They have the most experience with both, so I’m interested in their answer on the topic. Relion just issued a mass recall, and I’m digging up info on that as well. Great question.

I also just read that Epoch is a division of RoyPow. Very interesting move by them. Looking forward to that interview!

Warranty ? Total time? Full coverage for how long? Pro-rated how/ describe? Price for batteries? Describe a warranty claim process? Where are the service centers? Is a customer required to pay for shipping a defective battery back to manufacturer or service provider in another state? Is there a maximum cost the customer is required to pay for shipping ? Is there a minimum cost the customer is required to pay for shipping or for any other service while the battery is still under warranty coverage? Is there a guarantee of “ maximum time” a warranty service claim can reach after which the company will provide a replacement or refund? “ we’re sorry but the parts supplier is running behind” is a manufacturer and dealer problem, NOT a problem that the customer should have to bare. And Does the battery owner have the ability to access information ( diagnostic and performance info) directly from the battery ( batteries) … via can bus? Via blue tooth. Via…??? Working with a different retailer and different manufacturer ( that has an 8 year warranty / three years full warranty and the rest of the time prorated warranty, a warranty claim “ may “ finally have been resolved. But …. 1) initially we had info saying that we had to pay $300 SHIPPING !!! To send the battery back to the manufacturer 2) before we bought the battery, part of the “ features” of the battery included “ access to the BMS via blue tooth” . The retailer did immediately say that the Blue tooth access had been “ forthcoming” for over six months but was expected to be rolled out soon. That was over 12 months ago. I just spoke with the manufacturer and although they HAVE PERFORMED per the warranty claim… as of just a few days ago ( July 15ish 2023) I was informed that ( as the product continues to develop and evolve, the BMS and associated software must also be re-developed. I find THIS position outrightly dishonoring the contract. We bought a battery WITH a warranty and WITH specific features including the BMS Bluetooth accessibility. And the company continues to NOT perform ( provide the BLUETOOTH or any other BMS access) . With access to the BMS info, we, the owners may have been able to see the fault coming. Fortunately the BMS failure occurred “ at home/ before my wife took the cart out”. But what actions would the manufacturer have taken if the cart would hav failed miles from home? Would they have paid for cart towing? An Uber for my wife to get home? A rental car for my wife ? ( the Registered LSV is my wife’s PRIMARY transportation… and the battery and charging system and controller were all exactly 12 month old… “ a brand new car” doa. Yes this was a long rant. I bought a golf cart three years ago and determined that is was NOT going to be “ good enough” … reliable or safe enough for my wife to use as primary transportation. So I did a GROUND UP… literally…. 100% disassembly . EVERY nut and bolt is stainless, NEW ( yes really ) BRAND NEW $1400 EZGO TXT SIX PASSENGER long frame ( $1400)… but rear most seat removed… the back is for beach chairs and umbrellas. front suspension rebuilt and coats of pain, rear drive system …same….. COMPLETELY new hand built wiring harness ( the EZGO wiring harness was a busy noisy mess, so I built my own … MUCH cleaner and made more sense, more modular and everything is easier to trace) All body parts painted ( is was a professional piano rebuilder so the paint is pro level)… ps Tractor Supply “ Oil Paint Hardener” or “ Japan Dryer” with Acetone as the reducer…OMG the Home D RUSTOLEUM PAINT I came out as nice ( and strong) as automotive grade paint.. do the you tube searches … that was a great success. All lights replaced with LED lights . New front windshield $125 New front windshield frame is actually Home Depot galvanized electrical conduit 90degree bends ( $14 each) and galvanized fencing . ( $25) they slid together and then bolted… 10 times more rigid that the little 1” square tube windshield frame. $1000 to get the cart titled and tagged ( Florida) $2600 for the battery and $1000 for the controller… we bought “ the best” FOR…the reliability….. 12 months later …DOA. Four new over size tires $500 Brake shoes ( I don’t remember price) All in just over $ 7000 … every part is either BRAND NEW or sanded primed and with three or more coats of paint. Ooops Plum Quik Purple motor is from the original cart. Although the older EZ Go front suspension is old primitive leaf spring design and therefore too stiff… otherwise this cart is 110% brand new, with anal retentive craftsman time and quality…BECAUSE I built it for my wife…. Whom I actually do still like ( 35 years and counting… feels like 100) . $7000 bux and a lot of time… but we can’t touch a similar cart for under $15000. Yes carts are way overpriced…. But …she…loves….her….cart……. And now I’m worried that she won’t trust it anymore. FIND a local dealer that can do ALL of the warranty work or have loaner batteries(?) If this “ four pack” had been available a year ago…AND has a competitive warranty, I absolutely WOULD have considered this system…BECAUSE… if ONE battery and ONE BMS fails… the other three in parallel would still provide service but with reduced range. Long rant…. I’m venting…. If our battery failed again I’m going to step in to a more aggressive “ give me my damn money back” position. I didn’t re-read the posting to check for typos…. My apologies. I didn’t name the battery manufacturer BY NAME… as I am still going to give them one more opportunity to perform. I WILL provide their name as this warranty service performance concludes. Either they deserve a thumbs up or not…. And I have all of the comms to support my statements.

I will post the link to Epoch’s warranty in the description. Also, please let us know what happens with your warranty and feel free to address company by name. We hold them accountable, unless the consumer is being unreasonable.
