I am glad to have discovered your video. I stained my concrete 4 years ago and now I’m doing a new addition to my bardominium and going to strip and prep my concrete and most likely order your product. AND MATTE FINISH ALWAYS. Gloss is for showrooms and department stores.

I’m impressed that your white metallica epoxy covers up the old floor without the old design showing through. The product I use doesn’t work that well and we always have to put a primer coat down first

I went with Matte and I have to be honest it just makes it look very commercial and flat and it absorbs all the light rather than reflect it as a gloss would and it kills the entire metallic look of the floor not to mention it's Really not that slip resistant I cannot Walk on it in socks and not be petrified of breaking a bone. Thankfully the guy that did my floor is willing to redo the top coat for me.

I made the mistake of having the guy put down a Mat finished because I was told it was more slippery assistant than a gloss finish and it completely ruined the entire metallic effect of the floor and it also absorbs all the light rather than reflect it as the gloss would have so it looks very dark and dingy.

Looks great ( as if it wouldn't with you guys doing it ), first question , is when you do the area in sections... is there any concern with the fresh mixed second pour meeting the semi-setting first pour seam/area ? I would most likely choose a Matt finish for the practicality of it , but I'm guessing the Gloss would have a bit better " WOW " factor... assuming it was always keep very clean ( not really a home with a large family , especially with dogs ) Would/could/should you use a buffer on the floor ? Thanks Bob from Calgary

ps. nothing about the floor ... but the baseboard/trim/door color , ( totally ...to each his/her own ) but as a home renovator of 30 yrs now , I think a color that isn't so one dimensional as basic grey . use work in a lot better. I think I would have gone with something custom tinted in more of a Granite tone . But hey , these are just my thoughts .

Great work yall-Matter of personal preference, but I'd do matte, there's already a ton of natural lighting that its giving off alot of glare, matte coating would tone that down considerably And, give it such a beautiful clean natural stone look, but I'm just a "cook in the kitchen" 😆

Gorgeous. One BIG QUESTION I have. How is the removal of the tape on the baseboard handled? You would have to wait a couple hours to pull it before it hardens too much but I don't think you could walk on it at that point. Or do you pull it next day? Seems like that would not work either. Thanks!

I would like to know that too because the guys that did mine taped my baseboard trim but then had to remove it before the color coat because he realized it would get trapped between the material and the trim and it would never be able to come out and i'd have blue painter's tape stuck between floor and baseboard trim.

How do you blend the sections together especially when rolling over the first section when applying the second second? Wont the roller start to peel the already setting first section or are both areas still wet enough?? Hope this makes sense😅
@LeggariProducts
@LeggariProducts 5 ай бұрын
This makes sense! Yes we have to make sure to blend the first section before it really begins to set, before moving on and focusing on the next section. If you wait too long, you'll definitely run into sticky resin, especially if it's cold.... It helps to have an extra installer helping on the project. I did this same kit on my kitchen floors last year and it didn’t come out the way I expected. The floor changed from white to now a beige almost yellow color. Some spots sound like there’s bubbles underneath cause it makes a cracking sound when you step on them. Another thing is it gets dirty all the time. You drop some water and step on it, it turns to mud. I’m constantly mopping these floors. Hate it 😔

Okay, so what do we do if the epoxy kit was bad? I had never done it before and the resin mix was like hard packed brown sugar in the packet. I mixed it and let it sit for recommended time according to directions, painted it on and there were chunks of resin that I pulled out. But at the end of the day, it didn’t properly mix (in hindsight) and now the floor won’t cure; it’s sticky. Rustoleum confirmed that the store I got it from probably stored it incorrectly (too hot or too cold….) hence the problem. They said we have to scrape it off and pressure wash it off and start over again! 😡 Well, the concrete (brand new slab) was prepped according to directions (we washed it with their product then used etch allowing to dry in between) and then the paint really “sucked in” to the concrete. There is no scraping it off and no pressure washing it; it is bonded to the concrete. I feel like someone (not us!) should refund us but also pay for the materials to get this garbage off of the floor. I just don’t know what is going to take it off. Any ideas?

We just had our basement floor metallic epoxied. We were told it would look and feel like glass when finished. It was spectacular until he put the final coat on. Then it fish eyed? I think that's what he called it. Then he redid the top coat and now it looks like there's sand in it or like it's textured with lots of debris and you can see every scratch from when he sanded it prior to this final coat. It is supposed to look like marble. We are devastated. We paid so much money. Can this be fixed?😭😩

Yes, it would need to be sanded down to the epoxy surface where the scratches are and a new top coat applied.

Yup. Just sand for 90 hours straight should do the trick

@@LeggariProducts Thank you. We really need it smooth. We were told it would be smooth and we wanted the kids to be able to play barefoot but their feet get cut from all the sharp debris so they obviously have to wear shoes in the play area now. We hope we are able to do this and resolve this issue. Any other advice, tips, tricks would be very much appreciated.

@@BrensBoutique because you have to spend time to sand it down to the original level, then buff out the scratches, to then reapply a nice layer. If you can deal with the eye sores for a few years, save money, and strip it completely, and get real granite. You already in a deep hole, Just go All the way with granite. Epox is hit or miss, and when it doesn’t go well, It’s awfully. You
