Thank you for sharing your beautiful beach design's, and techniques to create your waves. I'm new to this style of art . But have always enjoyed seeing these pieces. I'm attempting my first project , that will be performed on a slab of live edgewood . With multiple voids , crevices and a openings within the edges perimeter. The the peice is 3" thick,so I believe I'll need a Epoxy resin that I can pour deep case . But I want to pore inlayers to add small details through the visible depth. Then once the I reach the final layer . Attempt to create a final layer that hopefully look like waves on the beach . And the crevices and opening within the piece . Appears to be deeper reef edges riseing up .To a shallower spotted sand grass flats. Sounds crazy be I know for for my first project . But was raised with a mantra " If their's a will . Theirs always a way. An it can be found within you. I guess my question is can I use the same Epoxy deep pore resin , for the entire piece. Or should I use a resin with a longer working time for the final applications . From the same manufacture. Any advice is sincerely appreciated. Thank you jim.
@TamsCreativeCorner2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Jim! Your project sounds incredible!!! I don’t have a lot of experience with deep pour resins so I can’t help you there. I’d certainly want to have at least a 30 minute working time with my final layers. I believe there are brands out there in casting it deep pour that would work for you. I’d love to see your final piece as it sounds stunning!

Thank you for your timely reply. I've ruffly shaped the two individual pieces that will sit upon each other . To simulate the cliff walther waves will surge upon . After sanding the individual pieces. That were a 3 inch section of Locust tree trunk .I was surprised by the grain structure . And the variations in it's natural grain colors . As well as what appears to be to possibly some type of mineral absorbed during a year of two of its life cycle. That was captured within a growth ring . Now I must decide to continue with my original ideal , or allow it to reveal its unaltered character and create 2 pieces one to keep and one for a childhood friend. Looking forward to yours next inspiration video.

I Vanessa! The resin I used in this video is linked and listed below the video in the description section. thank you! for the waves, I use a higher heat for sure! It's something you just have to experiment with and practice. I still accidentally burn my resin sometimes! Thank you for watching and have fun!

I dont understand how its made, i tryied myself, but all just got smered out, no cells or anything, i dont know what im doing wrong, what white is it? do u add something to make a cell?
@TamsCreativeCorner3 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of factors that go into why you may or may not get cells. First thoughts are to make sure your board is level so the resin isn’t moving off. Also, yes pigments and heat make a lot of difference. The pigment I use are listed in the description below the video. Also, it can take practice. Not every attempt I’ve made comes out. Hope this helps.
