Trespa is the best. We use it at work by the pallet load. Amazing stuff.

Oddly enough phenolic resin is used for aircraft and high performance automotive brake discs because of the incredible heat tolerance.

why is that odd?

I have a bass with a phenolic fingerboard. Is it safe to sand it to restore it. What methods are best for polishing phenol and removing imperfections? Thanks

We have a GREAT new product called Solicor that looks like epoxy but cuts like SPC. Beautiful edges and a clean look. Nice option between the SPC and the epoxy.

Great video! Question for you: do you happen to know of a way to repair broken poly phenol formaldehyde resin? I have a Carter Thermoquad carburetor from the 1970s with a cracked poly phenol formaldehyde fuel bowl. Previously people would repair this using epoxy resins or JB Weld, but the ethanol and/or other compounds in modern gasoline destroys these materials over weeks or months. The poly phenol itself isn't damaged by the gasoline. If I could use an off-the-shelf product that would cure at normal atmospheric pressure (even if I have to cure it in a toaster oven) that would resist vibration, heat, and modern gasoline as well as the original poly phenol resin does, it would save a lot of time, money and trouble for me, because nobody is making these fuel bowls any more. Do you know of anything that might help me? Thanks.

@@MichaelDavis-cy4ok Hey.... Look up Carburetors and More... in Texas... they do Any Kind/Year of Carb repairs, and has You Tube Channel, because they also put on live engine and video it so you can see before and after. I have spoken with the main tech there, and he is like a carburetor whisperer. Their You Tube name - dgrcgrl and you can see atleast videos, along with get their phone number... That would personally be my #1 Choice, Michael.

Does Solicor have better heat and chemical resistance than standard phenolic resin?

The barrel says "epoxy phenolic lining". So now I see "epoxy VS phenolic", as if they don't go together. So, what does "epoxy phenolic" mean?

I have a sheet of 1/4 inch phenolic and wonder if it can be tapped and if so can coarse thread be used and how strong will it be? Also what is the best way to cut this sheet? Thanks!
@zenjon7892 Жыл бұрын
No sure if you still need the information, but I would suggest cutting it with a diamond concrete saw and drilling it with carbide drill bits (actual carbide, not masonry), then putting threaded expanding anchor inserts in
