I definitely want to make more of these and I plan on selling them! I also hope to get more into wall art as well as cutting boards, maybe some other things so we'll see. Enjoy!

Compared to the wood, itself, how heavy is the epoxy? Is it lighter than the wood alone, or heavier?
@JarrodTocci
@JarrodTocci 4 жыл бұрын
That amount is lighter but If I made it bigger then of course it would change. I'm actually going to weight it now, but if I had to guess the table total weight now is about 20-25 pounds

Very neat looking table! Great job. 👍 Within the epoxy you could put items to add some uniqueness when making them for others. As long as the item could withstand the epoxy. Maybe glitter, small flowers, crystals, etc. Just a thought.

I have a whole lot of ruff sawed, kiln dried black walnut. I should make the countertop and table for my future van. I wish I was closer we maybe could work out a deal for a bunch of nice walnut.

I am playing catch up on videos so just seeing this. I love it. I hope to be able to put one in my van at some point. I think these are just such a final touch to a van. Thanks for sharing and I am excited to see what you create.

Jarrod, hun why don't you start a business selling these beautiful wooden tables that you can customize at least. Wish I could offer this skill. But for sure, one this size should be expensive as it is customized alright. Good stuff take care sweetheart. Tiff Q with Love

Do you have to make an undercut bevel along the sides of the tiverbed before pouring in the epoxy so it doesn’t pop out someday? Or does the epoxy bond with the wood fibers really well? I saw the one Drew (KZbin “Mr and Mrs Adventure” ) built from reclaimed wood and love the idea for a tabletop.
@JarrodTocci
@JarrodTocci 4 жыл бұрын
Don't need to bevel as that will bond very well with wood

Very Cool! Idea... Base the river design on a real river, where you can provide Latitude and Longitude for the inspiration river. I lived on a river for many years and would commission a table of 'My River'. Anyway, nice work.

I just tried epoxying a Winnipeg jets logo in a plaque. Turns out I shoulda sealed the wood first because the colours bled into the wood around it so it looks blurry lol Or shoulda just used that glitter colouring

Which epoxy did you use? I've played around with all sorts and ecopoxy has already been good to me. For this table I used the 1:1 uvepoxy and for deeper pours I use the 2:1

Hey Jarrod You did an amazing job on that table!!! I see this venture as one that will set you apart from the others!! Quick side note: Since you are an advocate of tiny homes... Have you heard of Incredible Tiny Homes (ITH) they sell kits that you put together for $15K. I am asking because I saw that they also do container homes as kits sprayfoamed and all you need to do is assemble the inside. Keep safe!
