Very nice table. It would look nice with a translucent blue resin. The valleys would be darker than the resin over the peaks. Very effective metal look with the foil tape.

Maxx B I was thinking of something similar but with blue foil. Clear resin with blue foil... you could make an ocean floor with some plastic fish figures.. you wouldn't even have to clear the bubbles out. Heck any theme would work with that idea!

BC Brandt, either way is good communication but "made of" or "made from" better describes the composition materials of an object. "Made with" implies something else was created in addition to the table. Let's agree that "made out of" should be used. 😊

Yep, the table is certainly an eye catcher but what I enjoy is watching the kind of material craftsmanship that goes into making a tinfoil table with a composite plasticized glass top. Its nice to know that kind of beautiful "21st century" craftsmanship is alive and well in the world.

Очень красивая столешница. Однозначный лайк. Мое мнение - стоило использовать сусальное серебро в листочках вместо скотча (это уберет швы) и ноги заделать под хайтек, а не под барокко.

вот , кстати сказать, ножки изгибом своим очень перекликаются с волнами на столешнице, так что тут всё "бьётся". Сочетание дерева и фольги? как-то надо привыкнуть к нему. Я ещё подумала: очень красивая текстура образовалась на помятой фольге. Наверное, такая же фактура здорово бы смотрелась не в блестящем варианте, а каком-то "кожаном". И цвет какой-нибудь капучиновый, нет?

Не смотрится фольга. Надо было найти тех кто занимается химической металлизацией, они бы столешницу в зеркальный хром закатали, а потом под эпоксидку её, ну или плёнку зеркалку виниловую одним листом натянуть, не видно было бы этих морщин и глянец качественней получился бы, а ещё в эпоксидку я бы колер добавил, за счёт высоты фактуры получилась бы разница в глубине цвета. ИМХО Пы.Сы. А вообще молодцы как обычно лайк за труды!

сусальное золото как раз стоит недорого относительно, более того, сусалькой и с простой фольги можно было сделать в разу лучше - хоть гладкую, хоть текстурированную.

Сусальное золото не может быть недорогим( около 6000 руб. за грамм). Это золото очень высокой пробы( 900-950). Есть имитация, сусального золота, из бронзы и латуни.

There was so much resin involved in this project. It would be nice to see what happens if you pore it in two or three layers and put some ornament (crystal or interesting wood pieces you usually use) so it floats in resin when it dries. This shape you picked for the base will cast interesting shadows from the LED light embedded in resin. Nice project. It intrigues and provokes creativity. Nice job.

Обклееное дерево выглядит как отлитый пластик или бляха. Из дерева было бомбезно, я даже расстроилась, что покрыли фольгой(( а вообще ❤ и 👍

Thank you for sharing those beautiful creations with us! :) Since you have used epoxy resin in some projects, you may be able to help me. I'm thinking of coating a small garden coffee table with this resin, but from what I read UV radiation is not very friendly to it. Is there some protective (transparent of course) substance that I can use to cover the resin?

KatorNia get a resin that’s for boats. It has UV protection in it, a lot of the resin has the UV resistance but no resin will be crystal clear forever. I’m sure there’s an UV varnish that you could spray over the resin. If you’re going to be doing this indoors, make sure that you get resin with no VOC’s(low odor). As long as it’s not in direct sunlight it’ll last years, then you can just sand the top layer and put new resin on! It’ll take away the yellowing and keep it clear

I guess I'm in the minority because I don't find crinkled-up aluminum foil attractive. With all the time, money, and effort that went into this project, it should have been done in gold leaf.

Arnd2it the aluminium is not crinkled-up at all. It was smoothed up to perfection. Of course they could've used silver leaf or gold leaf but it would've been more expensive. Aluminium used to be more expensive than gold and everyone in high society would own aluminium plates and cutlery. Really! Google it if you don't believe me. But, maybe they'll listen to your idea and use gold leaf next time. Are you inspired to make something similar?

Ekaterina, I think you should make the video full screen and check out the 2:32 mark. It's hardly smoothed up to perfection--all I see is wrinkled aluminum foil. Surprisingly, gold leaf is not that expensive. A book of gold leaf that will cover 1.5 sq. feet is only $44. The big advantage is gold leaf being so soft and thin it can be burnished to the point where it looks like solid gold. Decades ago I might have considered taking on a project like this... but now I just settle for watching others who have greater ambition. :)

i guess you dont understand aesthetics. The point was for it to look crinkled not polished if it was polished gold it would look like tacky crap cheaply made. i personally would have polished the wood and dyed it then resin over the top at the wood would look stunning

Since you find it so aesthetically pleasing, I'll be happy to save all my used aluminum foil and gum wrappers for you.. Maybe you can start gluing it to your existing furniture and tell your friends it's all about "aesthetics"....LOL! I have to wonder if you see a gold frame around an oil painting as being " tacky crap cheaply made". But I do agree with you, I would have chosen stained and polished wood if it had a nice grain pattern.

I think it was thermo tape I’ve seen it before but it could be some aluminium tape that I don’t know about

Huntrix Mata yes, it looks like the tape that's used for temperary fixing holes in exhausts... I wouldn't call it aluminium foil. I think a little language barrier. Love your work!
