On 5 November 2024, Americans will cast their vote for the 47th US President, about one third of Senators and all 435 voting Representatives of US Congress. It is likely that the presidential vote will again narrow down to a battle between former US president Donald Trump, the Republican frontrunner, and the incumbent President Joe Biden from the Democratic Party. Experts concur that, based on past experience and campaign signalling, a Biden or Trump victory would result in highly diverging policies - both in domestic politics and foreign policy. The latter includes the future of the transatlantic relations, cooperation on Ukraine, Russia, China, the Middle East, climate change, trade, defence, etc. Experts will be invited to debate what to expect from a second Biden or Trump term.
