The first thing to do is remove all the blue plastic tabs holding everything together for transit. All was OK until the last one that was under the scan bed which just wouldn't pull out. I am loathe to use brute force so is there a way to lift the scan bed (not the lid)to get at the concealed end of the blue tape?

You need to go to step 5. Lift up the front control panel to a horizontal position. Under it there is a panel with the serial / password on it. click it down. Then you can lift the whole scanner bed up. It clicks and holds itself up. It is easy then to remove the blue tape that is stuck on a polystyrene block. To lower the bed again lift it up and it will almost go completely down you need to lift it slightly again and it will go down. Lift the serial/password panel up and click it in place the move the control panel back down. I guess the printer guy did not know this.

Does it have borderless printing option but for colour photos? Most important check for this kind of printers and money! If it doesn't have ...it is a crap! Simple

EcoTank Printer ,,, I have bought two now and swore I would never buy another. To be clear it, this is not the models I bought. They are very expensive and the ink always gets dried up and will not print. We cleaned it and did everything possible to make these printers to work. I love the concept but it has never worked for me to offset the price and the having to just throw it in the garbage with all the extra ink I bought. Sorry :(

We have to buy an ink pad?? So ink bottles and the ink pad? This printer is suppose to be better than a regular printer? I knew there was something else they were gonna make you do with this printer. Not just buying bottles of ink. Probably just better sticking with my regular inkjet printer with its cartridges and only replacing an ink cartridge when needed.

Do a cost breakdown analysis, you will probably end up still spending less on bottled ink printers like this one. Just more hastle.
