I bought the Epson F2270 from Swing design. Parts and maintenance items are usually on backorder. I really am regretting buying this high cost printer $16k. Now I'm getting Error 01138 "fatal error" I don't know what that means and there in no info on it. Can anyone help?

Hey there! We're sorry to hear about the trouble you're experiencing with your Epson F2270 and that Swing Design doesn't offer support for the products they sell. We understand how frustrating it can be to deal with backordered parts and maintenance items, especially after investing so much into equipment. For the Error 01138 "fatal error," here are a few tips that might help: 1. Clean the Encoder Strip: Sometimes, a dirty encoder strip can cause issues. Carefully clean it with a soft, lint-free cloth. 2. Check for Overcurrent Issues: This might involve ensuring there's no obstruction or jam that could be causing an overcurrent situation. 3. Restart the Printer: Try turning off the printer, unplugging it for about a minute, and then plugging it back in to see if this resets the error. It might be helpful to refer to the user manual for more detailed troubleshooting steps. You can find the manual here: epson.com/Support/Printers/Single-Function-Inkjet-Printers/SureColor-Series/Epson-SureColor-F2270-Standard-Edition/s/SPT_SCF2270SE#manuals . Specifically, check page 138 for troubleshooting advice. I hope this helps, and that you're able to resolve the issue quickly! If the problem persists, please do not hesitate to reach out to us again.

I can't even get the 800ML for the Epson 2270. Since Epson hasn't "made enough" because my $16k machine is "fairly new" I can't afford to have this problem. My prints currently aren't working out because my ML is low. I am a small business and I can't afford that. I am asking friends who have converted printers to make my prints because Epson has maintenance items out of stock.
