I have some problems with my Epson WorkForce WF-7820. Could you please help me with this? I am using Generic Ink Cartridge for this printer. I filled the 4 cartridges(812) with Universal Ink(Dye), each cartridge with 15ml of ink. All the cartridges already have chips on them. After I did maintenace such Head Alignment and Nozzle Check, the results were not good and some broken lines. But, it can print this test. All of as sudden, there was a message appear on the printer screen saying "Firmware Update". So, I clicked "Yes" to update the Firmware. After I did this, the printer was not working anymore. It said "The print cartridge is not recognized".

hi all i just found the sequence for the rom update screen on the epson px650 so press the stop/clear , right arrow specialty print and the on buttons at the same time

Here’s how I downgraded to older firmware on my WF7710. I have a Mac but I think it would be almost the same on Windows: 1. Download older Epson firmware updater software for the WF7710. I found it on one of Epson's support sites. 2. With the WF7110 powered off, hold down the buttons 4, 7, and Job/Status at the same time while pressing the power button. This will power up the WF7710 into recovery mode. 3. Connect the WF7710 to your computer with a USB cable (if not already connected). 4. Run the Epson firmware updater software as normal (since the WF7710 is in recovery mode, the updater won’t complain about newer firmware already being installed). 5. Wait several minutes for the update to finish. When done the screen of the WF7710 should say "Completed" or "Finished" etc. (the firmware updater software said the WF7710 would power off when done but this didn't happen). 6. Unplug the WF7710 power cable, wait a few seconds, connect it again and power it on. Note that this didn't remove or change any presets etc. I already had set up on the WF7710. But I wouldn't rely on that always being the case with every update.

It doesn't work with my XP 7100 neither. In step 5 in the firmware updater (screenshot of that at 1:16 in the video) it won't let me check the box, because the firmware is outdated. (Duh)

@@jeffdeslich7533 no. I ended up asking the seller to switch a newer ink for me. It’s a 3rd party ink on amazon and it works fine after that.

Epson be damned to hell, ten thousand times. Bricked because I unknowingly put in non-OEM ink cartridges. Can't recover.
