I've been so excited to bring this video, it's been months in the making...
Nobody's ever tried to capture the classic B&B Aphex EQF-2 in pedal form before.
The guitar tone on Metallica's Master of Puppets was absolutely amazing and is balanced enough allow the other instruments to fill the spectrum.
I presented the idea to Tim at Master Effects Pedals and he managed to make it work somehow.
The way the PMEQ manages to capture the tone of Master of Puppets is unlike anything I've tried before.
For more info please check out www.mastereffe...
I hope you enjoy the video, I can't believe how cool this is.
Thanks for tuning in again, feel free to email me with any questions at Lambchopper678@me.com Subscribe to the channel and follow on me Facebook www.facebook.c...

Pedal sounds really good. This takes me back to the 80s when we were all playing in the wharehouse district. There were probably 10-15 different bands , we would all visit each other's wharehouse. The tone I remember was pretty close to this. Lots of scooped mesa's and mid range searing Marshalls. Master Of Puppets was just released. That album really was a game changer. What a time it was.

Wow that’s probably as close as anyone will ever get to replicating the tone of that album, which is just crazy how hard it is to get the same tone of those classic thrash albums of the 80’s-early 90’s. Great job bud, your one of the very few guitarists I enjoy watching, you just jam it out there, I’m pretty sure you don’t take 20 takes when you play something. Keep it goin’!

Your dedication to recreate (not simulate) is mindboggling, approaching the task by actually recreating tone using (building) "analog" equipment in favor of simulating digitally, is like the difference between restoring a 67 Camaro or buying a kit car and assembling it. Neither option is in any way wrong or easier, it's just not the same thing.

Lamb, your consistent awesomeness is unrivaled. I got a Mark V 25 back in November 2021 and I've been loving it. Through the Two Notes Captor X, I've never sounded better. I have your videos to thank in guiding those purchases. The power of an EQ in the effects loop cannot be understated. If I was in the market for an EQ to put in the loop of my Mark V, would you pick the MXR 10 band, the EQFH or this new PMEQ? Much like you, I'm stuck in the 80s sonically, and love thrash. Thanks again Lamb, cheers!

I can’t tell you how far down the rabbit-hole I’ve gone trying to nail this tone, and yet this does it perfectly! The parametric was the missing link, clearly!! Btw, I believe you can hear the JCM used in overdubs in serval places - between the pre chorus and chorus in Sanitarium is probably the most obvious to me. Also, to my ear a lot of the rhythm tracks sound like G12-65s - this is really apparent on RTL but more subtle on MoP. Finally, please make a video trying to cop the AJFA tone with this now!! MOP sounds like G12-65s instead of G12T-75s because they're 1st gen T-75s which are really nothing more than 75 watt G12-65s. These 1st gen speakers sound nothing like today's 75s and are even constructed differently.

I've spent way to many hours in a studio and if I never step in one again, that's fine. I was a tape bitch, ran tape all over for some big ass studios in the LA area. The thing is people record, it sounds good, they go with it. The roll for hours and if the take is done, guess what? Unless someone was there taking pics of everything, of all the settings, etc you would not know. Back in the 90s people would come in, they'd record, and it would be said "hey whatever that is, keep it there until I tell you" and it would stay for a few songs for a feel. No one then was taking notes, outside the over achiever lower ender who was running coffee and *VERY* rarely would run in and want to be a do gooder and ask questions, take notes, bust out a polaroid, etc.

Awesome job. I much prefer when you cut some of those bass frequencies out about 5:31 time stamp…. Question do you find that the KZbin upload is compressing things a bit more than what you’re hearing in the room?
