Hello! Another new video out today! This one is obviously pony related, so if you don't like, don't watch.
In other news, FIRST. I am the first to upload a recording of floppy drives playing any song from EQG, and I'm probably happier than I should be because of this.
Special thanks to DJDelta0 for the MIDI file: • Equestria Girls (Helpi...
LOL RANDOM TEXT BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO PUT HERE
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IF I HAVE USED YOUR MIDI WITHOUT CREDIT, PLEASE CONTACT ME. I will GLADLY give you credit! Even if you think you sort of hear something you made in it, contact me; I have to do some editing of my own to get the floppies to play the music, and I sometimes use multiple sources. I always forget to go back and see who's MIDI file I use for my vids, but if you want credit, or even if you want me to take down a video, I will gladly comply.
The stepper motor at the back of the drive is what causes the sound. (Looks like a metal cylinder) The program I have converts MIDI notes into different speeds for those motors, which make a sort of clicking noise every time they move. The higher the note, the faster the motors move, and the higher the pitch.
Huge thanks goes out to Sammy1Am and MrSolidSnake745, who gave me the inspiriation to do these videos!
Sammy1Am made the Moppy program for the Arduino that actually allows the floppy drives to do this. His tutorial video can be found here: • Video
Also, lol im gonna tack this to every floppy video I make from now on. :D
