How many of y’all remember having this on vhs? I did! Thankful they shared this on KZbin. So many memories watching this as a kid. 😊

Hopefully no horses nor riders got hurt. As a horse lover and someone who's ridden for years, it was wonderful to see the horses' and riders' determination to work together, or not. :) Thank you for posting this!

In the opening shots, I clearly remember H.R.H. The Princess Anne taking a dive in the water. It was the emptying her boots that I well remember...anyone else?

So many memories of the 3 Day eventing game from YEARS ago. Riding the Dressage, Cross and Show...I started as such a noob...now? Even in 2014, it has glitches but...i am a star athlete at it and, in a stroke of genius and luck...it has helped me learn to jump my real horse. Who knew a computer game that had terrible sound and graphics actually taught a Western born kid to do a little jumping!

As a multi class rider many of these riders are not giving these horses enough rein!
@TheNonMakeupGuru7 жыл бұрын
In your opinion. Do you know the horse its self or the situation? no. Back off
@henrietta93946 жыл бұрын
TheNonMakeupGuru even if the horse requires a tight rein to be under control , while going over a jump the horse NEEDS rein in order to clear. While watching the cross country fails, I noticed that most of the refusals and falls were due to the lack of room the horse was given to manoeuvre his/her head to correctly clear the jump due to the tight contact with no give. Get some knowledge before you snap back at people.

Can anyone tell me if the height of a rider makes a difference in Cross Country?? Some of them looked a bit too tall to me.
@meganproffitt31359 жыл бұрын
Isabel9867 Height doesn't matter as long as the horse can carry them just fine.
@TheNonMakeupGuru7 жыл бұрын
Not at all. It depends on the horse and considering most of these are world class riders i think they would know

Horses jump in the memory of what they see. So sometimes they actually dont even see the fence. :0 Sorry for my bad english...
@Lyskarii10 жыл бұрын
This is partially accurate. A horse can see the fence coming towards them, the higher the fence the higher they will lift their head so they can see the fence. The last stride or two before they take off, however, is completely blind. They can't really see the fence any more, so in essence, it is based on memory. Of course, if the rider isn't telling the horse what is coming next, the horse won't see it til it's too late but can still usually jump it. Most cases of a horse not jumping, however, is not the horse's fault but the riders. Whether it is not giving the horse enough rein for them to actually get enough forward energy and flexibility to take off, or a rider jumping before the horse. :)

I hate those solid jumps where those horses get hurt. Those poor horses. Those water jumps are in humane. Those poor horses can’t tell you where they are hurt or how much.

Im sorry but i feel the obstacles are bit too barbaric for the horse being that its already forced into these shows i mean you could see the horse simply just isnt feeling the environment as they should to do these kind of things. Ive been riding for quite a while and some of these riders should know better but i guess thats just English. Not saying english is bad but...

I ride English and I jump but I don't force my horse. You shouldn't judge on what you see. Some may not act or ride like others
@sarahconnor45059 жыл бұрын
i wasn't judging i was just making factual statements. i do western but my best friend dose english we both know and any equestrian know both styles put a long of pressure on horses ankles. people should learn to take facts rather than seeing them as insults see them as education ...
