I remember when I was first learning to ride without stirrups (must have been around 8-9) we were told to drop stirrups and at that point I pretty much dropped both stirrups and my contact with the horses mouth. Poor girl got mixed signals in my attempt to stay on and keep my leg from creeping up that she thought I had meant to point her at that jump. Despite being horribly off balance she still did it and I did stay on but ended up landing in front of the saddle. Mare stops and puts her neck up so I don’t fall of and waits for me to get my bum back in place. Sweetest girl ever. RIP Frigg So glad my riding has long since improved.

The guilty horse kinda reminded me of an experience I had riding (though I don't actually remember much of it since I was three or four-ish?). I was test riding a rescue pony (her name is Shadow), when the gate of the ring hit her butt. It spooked her, and my foot got caught in the stirrup. My mom was trying to get my foot unstuck while Shadow kept turning around in circles trying not to step on me XD. After getting me unstuck (I was fine) my mom led Shadow back over to me, and the li'l pony put her head to my chest like 'i'm sorry'. To this day she does that when I fall off (even if it was me doing something wrong lol). Shadow's the best

I love the horse jumping out of the round pen so casually. It is totally just pulling and exit stage right, I have had a couple of times where that happened at a farm I was at. One time it was this giant horse who spooked and literally jumped the fence by accident. One time it was my retiree who knocked out the top part of the fence we put ver the little jump for x-country, and just jumped into the paddock with more grass ( he was a genius).

8:14 I've seen this done by trick riders, but the difference is, the special trick saddle will not twist or turn or move in any way, they're specially designed for stuff like that. Fun videos though! I feel old, as I cannot figure out ticktock! haha

8:45 the only time that is appropriate is if you do equine vaulting or if you have the right saddle. I feel like people ignore vaulted even though it is such a fun sport and my coach is so good with her horses

I rode a horse once and her brand was literally purple. We put purple glitter in her hair, her leg wraps were purple, and she had a purple leapoard print saddle pad. I was wearing purple on that day too, so we matched so well! It was for a mini show in a riding camp

I just came up with the idea of tacking up but doing everything with your weak hand and swap the hands ! So if you're right handed, you have to brush with your left hand. And put on the bridal the other way around as usual and so on
