During my lesson there was this horse who was supposed to become my usual riding horse and she turned out to be pregnant the week later, and she just had the foal during my lesson so the horse I was on this lesson couldn't get to her stall bc they extended the stable of the other mare... It was really sad cuz every horse went to their box and she just had to stay in the arena... And then we took her tack of and she was just being a foal herself

My guess is the horse is a habitual roller. When I used to do riding lessons there was one horse that would always get down and try to roll after getting into the warm up area. We had it down to an exact timing so we could move out of his way.

Okay so one time before I owned my gelding he had a fly mask on and got loose. This rich guy with his daughter was at the barn and they saw him and they started screaming that he was a blindfolded beast xDD. When he got loose this is what he did-- he walked to a hay bale and started eating. What a *blindfolded beast.* I wasn't there to see it I just heard the story but man I wash I had been there xDD

One thing I respect so much about eventing and eventers is the fact that the horse has to trust the rider to help him/her judge the jump because they can't see the whole thing themeslves. At the same time, the rider has to trust the horse's judgement too. The sport requires mutual trust and true partnerships. It's beautiful

Warwickshiller said alot of event horses he works with missed the ground work they need and are more flinchy with ropes and other things going on around them. To think most riders aren't doing groundwork with their horses especially when they do competitions with them is crazy.

Warm up rings at hunter/jumper shows are so stressful. I always forget to be nervous for the actual class and just panic at the thought of the inevitable near death experience I will have. So... I guess that is a mild benefit to the chaos of the warm up. I usually just try to get in and get out in a short time before the class.
