My dad was watching me work my horse before a show bc she gets really nervous but excited. She started going crazy a few times and freaking out. My dad stayed there until I called for help and he ran over was like, “you good? Gosh. Do you need a banana?” So funny-after he stayed as close as possible and kept his eyes on me and kept offering food to me.😂

When horses jump really really high over the jumps like that, I was told about this training method where people stand on the edges of the jump and as the horse jumps over they raise the bars so the horse learns to jump higher than anticipated to avoid the bar from suddenly moving like that
@Amanda-C.2 жыл бұрын
That's called poling, and it's illegal under several rule sets. It needlessly causes pain. If you're caught doing it as a training technique, it's cause for disqualification or worse. Anyway, do you really want to lie to the horse about how high they're jumping, and about what the jump is going to do to them? They don't like hitting poles. It hurts. If they don't care, or if you can't induce them to come to the jump with enough impulsion and a good distance with all your best riding or ground aids, then you don't have an animal that's going to enjoy the sport no matter how much you rap them on the cannons.

Raleigh needs to take notes. Youre so kind! And whenever you judge something you do it very kindly, unlike raleigh. Im not trying to compare but what im saying is how theres a same kind of horse youtuber (a youtuber that knows a lot and likes teaching others about it, like you and raleigh) and they can be doing the same thing but one will be kinder about it (you) and one will be more mean about it (raleigh)!

this was great! I have a mare that takes off after she's divested herself of me.... but, my (now deceased) perfect perfect gelding would stay right with you if you accidentally came off. miss that perfect horse every single day.... but, my mare has taught me way more than the sweet guy. :-)

Ok I have a story I wanna share so, there is a ping at my barn named Mattino and I was riding him, suddenly he stopped but I let him stop cause I thought he had an itch. But no instead of scratching he decided that he wanted to have a roll! While I was on him! I got of and started trying to grab the reins but my Freind helped and we got him off and then we unpacked him and you know what’s sad? It was a little muddy in a corner of the areana and he decided that’s exactly where he wanted to roll and his tack was SOO muddy 😩😩 and then one time I was riding him and he made a VERY VERY sharp turn in canter and I flew off of him like a ballerina and landed sitting cris cross apple sauce. Lol

i was the first to ever jump and canter a horse i ride and yesterday when i was trying to jump him he didnt lift hi leg so he tripped on the jump and reared , which i somehow stayed on , then maybe 20 mins llater i was jumping a different horse and i lost the stirrup in the middle of the jump and he cantered towards a fence and i was falling off to one side with one foot in the stirrups , i thought i was gonna go straight into the fence

Yes, the horse bucking under the saddle while he is tied (I guess it’s the first time he meet a saddle… but that’s not the way to introduce a horse to the tack! What a claustrofobic feeling!), and the paint horse rearing and bucking with that macho man on his back (another very bad, stupid piece of training with tue only purpose to show how the macho man can dominate the horse 😑 shitty!)
