This is great! I always shoot with sunglasses, but now I'm looking forward to ditching them and trying clears. Crazy the little things I keep learning, not to mention the equipment that is super tempting to buy. Thanks Ray for the knowledge, and great shooting!

I am not sure that any of the shooting sports are cheap. Especially, with the prices of things these days.
@MrShortanswer3 ай бұрын
Like any shooting sport, you can scale the cost to your budget
@glenoh882 ай бұрын
@@MrShortansweryea but just the cost of ammo alone to practice to be reasonably competitive is high. It’s definitely not as cheap as keeping sharp enough to hunt public land.

I shoot a Match every month at Peacemaker National. PNTC is my home range . At Starlite ir back at the house behind starlite you can get out to 500Y . Frontier you can get out 600Y+. I used 1-10× for 2Gun matches for a good while . I switched to 3x MAGNIFIER paired with EXPS2-2. I'm actually way faster with this setup on reduced C Zone targets at distance. I dont know if its actual skill or I'm just better than I think I am but I smoke dudes with that OPTICS setup . I still have my space cadet moments when I'm not focusing. I was able to hit Reduced C zone at 480Y from inside driver seat of Vehicle using Steerling wheel as a rest . Then on same stage I went to war with 440Y 12" steel plate that I got to shoot from tank Trap lol . Past 10 or so matches I've been using 3x MAGNIFIER setup . I do need to start shooting 1-10× again to figure out why I'm slower when shooting at distance.

Great video Ray! Not sure if I missed it but what barrel length are you using? I currently use 14.5" in Tactical Games and considering 16" next year given slightly better ballistics. Don't want to go too long given weight and maneuverability in workouts. My holds are currently 300 1 mil, 400 2 mil, 500 3.5 mil, 600 5 mils. That's with a mv of 2579 using PMC X-TAC Match ammo. I'm no expert but I totally agree trying to match ammo to mils to make things so much easier.

Why do you not fill the D60? Is it a function issue or just that you won’t need that much in a match?
@XRING3 ай бұрын
I think it’s more of a me thing. When ever I have ever noticed any issues with magazines of any types it is usually when a rifle is dirty and there is a lot of spring pressure from a full magazine. I don’t download my 30’s or anything like that but I don’t think that I would need to have a D-60 all the way up to the full mark. That’s all.

Matches are so much fun. I love shooting matches of all types, USPSA, PRS, F-class, 22lr, you name it and I'll go shoot it. The people at these matches are extremely nice, helpful, will share gear and knowledge. Go shoot some matches, local matches is where the fun happens. It's only stressful if you make it stressful. Go with the intention of having fun and meeting like minded people. Then if you like it, you'll want to do more, which I bet you will. I'll show up at matches I've never done before, ask questions and the helpful people will gravitate to me. Before you know it you'll start to figure out the game and be competing for top places, if that's your goal. I look forward to matches way more than training or testing days at the range. Now I make my non-match range days targeted towards a specific "thing" I'm working on. Either load development, holster draws, PRS stations, or just better trigger pulls. I've found my shooting has a purpose now, I want to improve at my competitions so I work on the smaller and smaller details of shooting sports. Thanks for the Video, hope my comment wasn't too long. I just wish more people would go shoot matches. Your gun handling skills will improve beyond your wildest imagination.
