Dude teaches a master class in practical long range rifle and optics setup in under 45 minutes. Absolutely brilliant!

If the idea is marksmanship development, shooting a scoped 6.5 from the bench will not support that objective. In other words, shooters who take this route to long range will always loose to shooters developing skill from sling supported iron sight NRA Match Rifle Competition or iron sight sling supported US Service Rifle Competition. So, yes the author of this video is right about the demonstrated activity being easy. It requires virtually no position building skill or wind reading knowledge when shooting a laser like high bc cartridge. My perspective on this is as an American High Power Rifleman in Long-Range Award Winner, US Distinguished Rifleman, and CMP-USAMU Military Rifle Instructor and my advice is get into long range with a match conditioned AR. It will force marksmanship development better than all other means.

Hey Charles! I couldn’t agree with you more. I attribute my ability to shoot long range primarily to the old NRA High power matches from DCM then to CMP back in the day when scopes weren’t allowed. Those fundamental positional skills make everything else so much easier. It is extremely boring though and a dying sport unfortunately.

"Has long range gotten too easy?" It wasn't many years ago when rangefinders were more guess than science, and today a modern rangefinder is a computer. We didn't have accurate chronographs, and we didn't have easy access to the high-quality ammunition we have today. The machines that produce rifle barrels today are far more precise than they were just a few years ago, and modern metals are better. Then, optics are light-years better. Long range shooting has come a long way in just a decade or two. Shooting far still requires skill and practice, but modern rifles sure make shooting far easy.

Wouldn’t using the angel compensation available on most rangefinders take that out of the equation?

When adjusting an SFP scope magnification let’s say 6.5 to 15 will it change the point of impact for the bullet ?

I stumbled upon your channel because the algorithm put your "part 1" in my feed. I watched it, then part 2 and now I'm here ..... I'm about to land a 600 yd bulseye on that subscribe button 😎 .... great content, you do a fantastic job of explaining and come off as very inviting and patient. No arrogance whatsoever. 👍👍🇺🇲🇺🇲 i appreciate that. Keep on bringing us great content my guy! Top tier! As far as the "haters" yapping in the comments on the first 2 videos, if they don't like it why do they continue watching 🤷 , you're awesome, never apologize because a few people didn't have parents.

Burnproof gear is the best in my experience. 3 mags didn't destroy it. After two mags I carried the rifle off the range by the suppressor to prove it worked for some friends. 10.5" 5.56.

For 6.5 creed just take your yardage and subtract 2 and that's how many mils to dial. 600yds -2 = 4 mils
@charlesludwig917318 сағат бұрын
You don’t get X-Ring hits with this technique. Better to chronograph loading and produce a ballistics calculation to get a bullet drop compensation function onto a range card which states placeholder zero.

Been telling people this and they say BS. I have a Tikka T3 Lite stainless fluted barrel .270Win. I can shoot dime sized at 350yds under a quarter at 500yds with no wind all day long. The rifle is super accurate with handloads with OAL dialed in..

I really enjoy my Ultratech. I've had it for years and have cycled that thing a whole lot over the years. There's something satisfying about watching that blade dart in and out. Now I want to stick it in the freezer for a while and see if it still functions LOL. Gonna do it!

I love the ultra tech series but I can't believe nobody will comment or address the MSI opening on it's own in my pants leg pocket because of the shear weight of the blade and the ram Lock.
