Earlier this year I watched your XLR rifle chassis magazine adjustment video from probably a year ago at this point and now I'm building my first bolt action. Originally hated bolt actions cause in my mind once you bought one in that caliber that was it. I had no idea you could take a 700 SA and do barrel swaps on them without taking them to a gunsmith. Normal hunting rifles are also very uncomfortable for me to use. Being able to go from a 14.5" with a suppressor in 6.5 Creedmoor for white tail to a 6.5 PRC with a 20" barrel for elk all in one rifle is wonderful. Anyway, this video might get me to try out some long range stuff as well, if I can find a range that goes out past 200 in my area. Keep up the great work!

Such a great video. I started with a 308 chasing speed well above book numbers and ran into issues when i went up 7000 feet altitude and warmer than when i developed the load. After that i built a valkyrie and co.oeted and learned thru 2 barrels on that. Niw i use the 6gt, and probably wont change. I havent gone back to my data to see a velocity node slower, but i had exceptional results at 2950. Ill never be competative as a cripple since 2009, so i just go have fun and wnjoy the great company. Also never had feed issues on the bolt gun. Havent yet put the gas gun barrel into a receuver 3 years after getting it

U will be surprised how much jump a hybrid will still shoot tight groups with. With my 109 hybrid, I'm jumping .080 and getting killer groups. Now I can put the bullet in the lands, but I was getting my largest node on back. One thing I have noticed is I don't have to chase my seating depth near as much when I run more jump.

Thanks for sharing so much information Ray, I really appreciate it. This was a very good video for me as I have been contemplating between 6.5 Creedmoor and 6 Creedmoor, and you answered this for me. I plan to hunt and do have a 308, which is honestly a great hunting rifle, but I would like to get something with better ballistics, pretty much exactly what you pointed out. I agree, the 6.5 Creedmoor is a better cartridge, and it's still readily available and is easier to get projectiles for reloading than many others. It was apparent that the 105 was more difficult for Jamie also.
