A tip for the bungees: they come with the s-hooks facing opposite each other. Flip one of the hooks so they face the same way. Pinch the side of the hook going through the bungee so it doesn’t dig into the tarp. Remember to always hook the tarp with the end of the hook going away from the tarp.

Great advice, great list. I would add an impact driver and some basic tools because you never know. And you want a pillow at least. Many people will sleep in a hotel, but almost anyone will take a quick nap in the truck and you really want a pillow with you. Shoe deodorant will also save your nose every time you take the boots off inside the truck. Grease, wd40, a blanket, flashlight, batteries... the list goes on and on

Shop rags to use as padding against chains and to check oil and tranny fluid. Uline for corner protectors and thick cardboard for padding. I cut that into 9" wide strips and line the floor of my back seat with it. Shipping plastic wrap has lots of uses. WD40 for every time you get caught in the rain. In the winter a can of de-ice for the mirrors and glass. Leather gloves for loading and unloading and disposable latex gloves for pumping fuel. Corn starch when you get swamp ass in the summer and start chafing.🙃

Instead of edge protectors, you could use a stall mat and cut it into 6” wide strips. Stall mats are usually recycled from old tires and are tuff. Also, they can be purchased in different thicknesses.

Ya that’s a good idea and would be a lot cheaper!

As to the lever type of chain binder , I always use the excess chain and wrap it around the handle of the chain binder and it Always prevent it from popping loose . As to the ratchet chain binders they take way too long to readjust to secure your chained load . And for edge protectors for your yellow ratchet straps , I always have and use a piece of rubber conveyor belt . You can always get old or broken conveyor belts for free . I have a couple rolls sitting at home to cut more pieces from . Also keep in mind to condense all your supplies or you just don't have enough room to carry it with you . Plus there are several different tips than wasting money on that you really don't have to have ! But the one thing I really have that is very important is a battery impact gun for changing tires . The sooner you can change it on the side of the road the longer you'll live . Safety First Pal .

Oddly enough, i have one customer that requires steel toe boots. I show them at the security gate, then get loaded. I've never put them on there but I have to show them every time. And they know me. Crazy, I know. But it was definitely worth the purchase!

Get a better gooseneck lock. That one here can be cut off in 10 seconds. Yes it's only to deter and slow down a possible theft but there's definitely better ones out there. I would say other things as mentioned, you can get away with the cheaper stuff, but I would not buy a cheap lock when just getting starting off.

You don't need zip ties for your straps. Just roll them up and put them in the rub rail.

Hey Mr Lion ! Any reason you didn't go in full size trucking instead of hotshot in a class 5 ? I found that the price of a class 5 that can haul 30000 pound is really expensive. Especially if you compare to a semi ? Doing a 6 month training in january for semi driver ! It gives 24 month of experience on my license, but i'd prefer to do class 5 trucking, just not too sure about the finance it take for a 30K pounds class 5 VS a decent used semi ?!?
@Babylionhotshot11 ай бұрын
Sometimes it's better to start small and grow into things if money is tight. It's Not like they pay semi trucks that much better from what I can see on the load boards. I haven't driven semi so I don't know the answer for sure but I do know if you go of something and stick to it you'll be okay.

Hey man I like all ur videos positive. Wat kind insurance u recommend
@Babylionhotshot2 жыл бұрын
I just went with progressive. It was the only people I found that would insure a new authority. There are others but I felt comfortable if I got into a bad accident they would protect me. 1M liability 150k cargo. It’s 2.2k a month. It’s crazy expensive. Borderline not worth it. I gotta figure out how to get it down
